Hello Product Hunt, and thanks to @nivo0o0, @bentossell from PH for helping us out! We started Polymail with the vision of creating the most beautiful and powerful native email experience across desktop and mobile. We’ve always loved the simplicity and beauty of Mailbox’s design, but we also found that amazing tools like Email Tracking, Contact Profiles, and Scheduled Send were indispensable to our workflow. Today, we’re proud to announce that Polymail combines these great features with the same lightweight, seamless interface that you should expect from a native email client. We’ve chosen Mac OS X as our first destination, and we have iOS and Android apps in the works! Here’s a highlight of some of Polymail’s best features so far: - Per-Recipient Email Tracking - Contact Profiles + Relationship History - Read Later - Send Later - Undo Send - One-click Unsubscribe ***EDIT*** Thank you all for your amazing support! We're working hard to respond to each of you who reached out to us, and if you're interested in checking out Polymail - please sign up at https://polymail.io! We've also been nominated for Mac App of the Year for the Golden Kitty Awards 😻! Check out the runnings at https://www.producthunt.com/@gol...

@foolywk please could you elaborate on "Per-Recipient Email Tracking"? How are you implementing that? (if I'm understanding it's use correctly). normally open tracking is done by invisible pixels; if I send an email to 4 people, how could you tell which person has opened it, if they're all going to be receiving the same tracking pixel?
Supratim
@foolywk Looking forward to an invite . The anticipation is killing me
Ben Swinford
@_jacksmith @foolywk the per-recipient tracking got me off of gmail web with CRM and onto polymail
Varun Goel
@foolywk looking forward to an invite.. can't wait to try this. Love the fact that I can 'Send Later' and also do 'One-Click Unsubscribe'..
Sebastian Rumberg
@foolywk Would love to try it as well. It feels a bit like geeky christmas already.

Like many of us, I was sad to see that Mailbox is shutting down. The same day an invite to test out Polymail was in my inbox, and it was the perfect time to try it. I love it. Polymail is now my default email client, and I would encourage you to sign up to get on the beta and test it out. Looks like my email client for Mac problem (even when Mailbox for Max was available) is now solved -- looking forward to seeing what @foolywk and the Polymail team come up with!

@nivo0o0 this can't come to iOS soon enough! Really disappointing that Mailbox is shutting down. @nivo0o0 how did you first discover Polymail?
Niv Dror
@_jacksmith a Twitter friend @varadhjain asked if I wanted to try this new email app. I said sure. Then a few days later Mailbox announced it was shutting down and I instantly became interested in looking into it and trying it out 😁 Love what I've seen so far :)
Brandon Shin
@nivo0o0 Thank you Niv! Glad you got a chance to try us too & we're really excited to share what we have in store 😉

I feel like I am yet to want to track emails and do all the fancy stuff with it. For now, I send one and wait for a reply. Don't need much else.
Baadier Sydow
@bentossell I've been using mailtrack on chrome for open tracking. Its one of those things where you dont really think you need it till you start using it and you cant live without it.
Ben Tossell
@baadier I have no doubt! which is why I'm hesitant to download anything yet haha... Don't want to be abandoned like Mailbox users haha

I recently gave Polymail another try and it's indispensable now. Fast mailbox switching and read receipts are the killer features for me.

Love Polymail for the Mac, but the iOS app doesn't do it for me. When I'm on my phone, Inbox is my go-to.

Pros:

Shortcuts, beautiful design, and most importantly - read receipts!

Cons:

Occasionally buggy.

Check out this application which works great https://gethop.com/?

Polymail picked up where Mailbox left us hanging. Implementing all the best features like "Read Later" scheduling and swipe actions — all housed in a clean design.

Lately, I've noticed that Polymail is focusing more on biz dev and sales productivity with Polymail Pro. Understandable, with Sparrow and Mailbox being sold off and shut down. It's clear that email clients need to become profitable to survive. Unfortunately, I'm often pressured into features that I would never use via prompts and popups.

I have used Polymail for a couple of years now. I still notice a few small bugs around rendering emails, and the Read Later queue can break down if you have several threads saved. Still hoping these issues will be fixed soon. 🙏

Overall the app still functions great and is my daily email client.

Pros:

Has "Read Later" scheduling, and a very clean design.

Cons:

Focusing less on consumers and more on sales productivity. Can be buggy at times.

I would really check out Hop email, it works great, its free and it doesnt require anything new Check it out https://gethop.com/?

@bshins @foolywk I think I've been waiting an eternity to try the beta of @PolymailApp, I just can't wait anymore. Any chance to get an invite?
Robin
?makers I could see that you have a waitlist for android on your website. Do you know when the launch is (more or less :))? Thanks a lot for your great work!! All the best from Zurich, Robin

@foolywk I'm eager to try it out. My two favourite integrations with gmail on my browser are: rapportive (free) and Boomerang (paid). Do you offer support for these plugins?
Varadh Jain
Have been lucky to watch Shahan, Shin, and Brandon build Polymail since day -1 and it has been sort of mind blowing to take a step back and see how much they've already shipped in the past couple of months. Given how quickly they've been implementing feedback and fix bugs, I'm excited to watch this product evolve. Polymail has been my default mail client since the first version they shipped, so I'm already sold 😋 BUT, if you were to replace your existing OS X mail client, what would be some of the features that would convince you to make the switch? 💌
Jessica Willison
@varadhjain Hi Varad! I'm already sold too ;) , but my favorite feature that I didn't know I needed is having the photos of the people I'm emailing pull up! I'm horrible with facial recognition, so this is super helpful. And it makes email way more personable!
Varadh Jain
@jessica___lynne @varadhjain Yep, yep! I love that feature too. I'm good with faces so now I'll never confuse anybody with somebody else :P
madhu_
@varadhjain For me, search is the most important feature. Gmail does a terrific job of auto prompting my search queries and finding the exact email I am looking for, even with very basic search queries. I hope Polymail does a good job with search. If search doesn't work well, I usually abandon an email client immediately.

I've been using Sparrow to this day because it's truly the best email app out there for me. Many have come close, but were always abandoned and didn't quite cut it. Luckily, I discovered Polymail and signed up for the alpha. It's got lots and lots of potential. The team behind it is super responsive to feedback and bug findings. They fix them quick too! I've requested a couple of features and they're already being implemented in the alpha. I'm really looking forward to making the jump from Sparrow. That poor soul is getting slower with each OS X update. Polymail is blazing fast. The UI looks great. More great features are added with each build. IMAP support and an iOS version are coming soon, excited! The app will be powerful, yet the feel will always stay simple. That's what I value in products. Polymail seems like a solid mail app built for the people, by the people. And (hopefully) it will serve me longer than Sparrow. Great job so far!
Brandon Shin
@dubstrike Thank you Wojtek! We're excited too!
Josef
Looks really sophisticated. Like to idea of contact profiles and relationship history as well as email tracking. I got one more question: I'm currently working on a new product with a friend and we will soon need to send out emails to potential partners and the forth. Have you anything planned on collaboration / group inboxes?
Brandon Shin
@josef_moser Would love to chat about what your current solution is!
Josef
@bshins @josef_moser We were looking into Inbox by Zendesk which has collaboration features like internal and not for external parties visible chats. However, it's very buggy and we will probably switch to something else. It's probably also beyond the "normal" scope of an email client.

Been using the alpha version of Polymail for a couple of days now and I can already see this is going to be my default mail client on all my mac's going forward. I'm tempted to say it's a replacement for Mailbox, but it's actually much better. Way more stable than Mailbox ever was, and it's still in alpha. The keyboard shortcuts are excellent. No swiping functionality yet, although it's coming soon I'm told, but with the keyboard shortcuts you're able to fly through your email without touching the mouse. Much faster in my opinion! Some of the highlights for me: stability, amazing layout and design, stability, snooze functionality and keyboard shortcuts. Oh, and did I mention stability? You really notice the stability coming from Mailbox which crashes at least a few times a day. Great product guys! Looking forward to seeing the iOS app release.
Brandon Shin
@hermanschutte Thank you Herman!! We're glad to be your default 💌

Feel like i've been looking for an email client I love forever! Hope it's Polymail! Looking forward to receiving my invite ;-)
Brandon Shin
@danielkempe coming soon!

No doubt the current front runner for the best email product out there on Mac, and from the trajectory it's going in, on iOS when it comes out. I've been using the alpha for just a day but it's everything you wish email looked like in 2015. When did we get to the point when we stopped innovating on email, when things like send later and email tracking have to be extensions you use that are hacky extensions on top of Gmail? The team has been moving fast, which has been great. I worry, though, that the iOS version will be difficult, because iOS in general is extremely difficult, plus email apps on iOS seem immensely hard to build. Still, extremely promising, and it looks to me to be the only modern email client for Mac out there.
Brandon Shin
@markbao Thanks Mark! We're a big fan of working with iOS and UIKit, & excited to show you what we've got!

@foolywk Congratulations on the launch! Are there any plans to expand this into a hybrid email/CRM client? I see the Rapportive-like profile card on the right side of the product screenshot, and I think people are finally starting to realize that email is one of the most important (if not the most important) follow up tools out there for managing your network (both personal and professional). I would LOVE to see some sort of contact management system integrated, with follow-ups and to-dos expanded in the profile card. Just some food for thought as you think about world domination :D Would love an invite when you get a chance.
Philip Amour
Looks really promising. I would be interested to try out the alpha and possibly provide some feedback in regards to the UI, UX and iXD. Out of curiosity: how do you handle user data? Are any of the account credentials transmitted or stored on your servers?
Shahan Khan
@philipamour Yes, the Google token is stored on our server to send email, and perform send later/read later actions, and move email threads. We're working on getting a FAQ, Privacy Policy, and Terms of Service that will provide transparency and make everything clear. DM one of us, and we'll add you to the alpha list :)
Pedro Wunderlich
Would love an invite. I've reverted back to the OSX mail app as other clients haven't really fit the bill yet.
Brandon Shin
@pddro We'll save you soon!
Scott Wyden Kivowitz
This looks amazing. I backed Kiwi on Kickstarter, but this looks so much better. Can't wait to try it.
Brandon Shin
@scottwyden Can't wait to hear what you think!
Niv Dror
Congrats to Polymail on all the recent updates and the calendar integration!

Will this allow for delegate accounts in exchange? Been trying to find a way to retire outlook completely.
