Thanks @jhawleypeters ... we're always working on improving the anki sync support and the UX. I guess the fact that it was hidden behind a menu was confusing? I'm not sure I want to put it in the main UI as not everyone uses Anki but maybe a tour of how to perform the sync. the newer versions have tours now and I want to have one for every major feature

@getpolarized yes, hidden behind the menu was probably the second biggest issue. The bigger one was finding Polar related Anki Sync documentation, because I was unfamiliar with Anki Sync at the time. Thanks Kevin, Polar is an amazing product :)

Hey guys. Would love your feedback on Polar. We're doing a soft launch today so would love to get your thoughts. We were mentioned in a Hacker News comment and just exploded with tons of positive feedback and got about 600 github stars by just one small offhand comment. Really excited to see the community use Polar and make feature suggestions. If you have any suggestions please jump on our Discord: https://discordapp.com/invite/GT...

This software has become essential to my online reading

Pros:

Taking my reading offline, bookmarks in web content, having a list of articles I've read, annotation, and Anki integration

Cons:

UI can be difficult to figure out, exporting Anki cards took me two tries and ~5 minutes to locate the button

I installed polar on linux mint yesterday and am trying to load documents from my disk or pages. Either nothing happens or I get a "permission denied" message
