Hey, I'm a software developer and a foodie. I have a regular 9-to-5 job, but I also spend time as an indie developer working on this passion project that aims to make our workdays more enjoyable by letting your teammates send each other appreciation for their deeds in the form of pizza 🍕

I tried to make it as simple and friendly as possible, so here it is how it works:
1️⃣ Add PizzaTime to any of your Microsoft Teams chats
2️⃣ Mention a colleague and write your heartfelt message... ah, I don't forget to add a pizza emoji 🍕
3️⃣ Tag the bot, so it will deliver your appreciation message to the correct target

That's it! Simple as that. 🙂

But the fun doesn’t stop there! Your team can join the celebration by reacting with a pizza emoji to send even more appreciation to the colleague who went above and beyond. It could be someone who assisted you with a challenging task, or anyone who made a significant contribution that will benefit the entire team.

Plus, the app comes with some gamification perks - the more pizzas you send and receive, the more you level up, unlocking new recipes and achievements to track your progress.

Oh, and there’s also a friendly leaderboard where you can see the top givers around you. Your company can even use these metrics to turn recognition into real rewards for your team’s MVPs. Or, you can simply use it as an excuse to throw a pizza party at the end of the week and celebrate together! 🍕🎉

I've put a lot of time into crafting this fun and engaging experience for you and your colleagues, so I’d love for you to give it a try! Let me know what you think - whether you like it or if you have any suggestions. The project is still in its early days, and every bit of feedback helps make it even better!

Aishwarya Lohi

As someone who doesn't enjoy pizza and is frequently subjected to it in social gatherings, I appreciate this a lot.

Valentin Kirilov

@aishwaryalohi ahh, thank you! That really means a lot to me.

Yes, the app is built around pizza as a symbol of gratitude, but at its core, it’s all about encouraging people to say “thanks” and show appreciation to each other. In the end of the day, knowing you’re valued makes a huge difference - it’s a powerful morale booster for everyone! 🙂

Aishwarya Lohi

@valkirilov jokes aside, I'm all for gratitude and appreciation to boost morale and spreading the cheer. Goes a long way in team building and forming meaningful relationships.

But the next time someone offer me a pizza as a treat, I will say, "Have you heard of this super cool add-on called @PizzaTime ? Now on, it's the only way I accept pizzas." And they will be relieved that they don't have worry about cutting it equally either. Everybody is happy. :P

Valentin Kirilov

@aishwaryalohi one of the best things I’ve read today!

Thank you, Aishwarya, for the kind words - I hope you’ll think of PizzaTime every time someone offers you a pizza at the office 🍕😊

James Cooper

An easy way to promote a friendly work environment and strengthen team bonds. A wonderful idea!

Valentin Kirilov

@focusaur thanks! That’s exactly my goal - to help teams have more fun and encourage them to express gratitude to each other more often, using something everyone loves - pizza! 🍕

Zagita

I love Pizza! Congrats on your launch! It’s a fun way to foster team camaraderie. Will there also be a customize pizza feature? That will also be so much fun.

Valentin Kirilov

@rani_zagita thank you, Zagita! For now, you can unlock different pizza recipes as you level up - the more pizza you send and receive, the faster you progress. I’m also planning to add more recipes in the future, and I love your idea of custom recipes made by users. I’ll add it to my notes for potential future enhancements! 💡

Nika

Generous idea :) Colleagues with the most pizzas will receive a real pizza? 🍕

Valentin Kirilov

@busmark_w_nika yes, they can! There’s a friendly leaderboard where you can see the top performers in the team and turn virtual recognition into real rewards. Or, you can simply gather and celebrate with a pizza party together! 🍕🎉

Valentin Kirilov

@busmark_w_nika haha, I was not aware of this initiative. Sadly, it's not happening in a town near me 🤷‍♂️

Nika

@valkirilov True, it was not so easy. I am on their Discord channel and were there from the early beginning trying to claim some pizzerias in my town, but without success. :D at least I have pizza box NFTs :D

Valentin Kirilov

@busmark_w_nika still, they managed to create a big list of locations after all. But yeah, it's not available near me, so I should bake my own pizza tonight and celebrate the launch results 🥳

Jusi

I love this simple but enjoyable idea. Because who don't likes pizza, right? Think it's a funny integration to show some appreciation. Sadly we don't work with MS Teams, so I won't be able to use it. But still congrats to your launch!

Valentin Kirilov

@jusi thank you, Jusi, for the kind words!

That was exactly my intention when I came up with the idea - everyone loves pizza, and it’s a fun and simple way to say “thanks” to someone who helped you with a tough task.

And I chose Microsoft Teams because I use it at work and originally built the app for my teammates to have fun together. But I made it publicly available so more teams can enjoy this fun way to bond together 🙌

PS: That said, starting with Teams doesn’t mean it’s the end! I’m currently working on a Slack integration - coming soon.

But shh… it’s a secret! 🤫 🍕

Jusi
@valkirilov Oh yeah, with the Slack integration, you got me 😌Of course, I will be 🤐
Maria

Love the pizza and your project, how did you come up with this?

Valentin Kirilov

@mariia_sit you know… as they say - one night I had a dream and came up with the idea to make something like that.

I'm a foodie and I've been passionate about pizza for many years. On one of my birthdays (I was making pizza for my friends, of course), I made a custom app so they can order the pizza and customize the topping as they liked it... so yeah, I have a long story with pizza 🍕

But for this app, I wanted to boost our team morale and have this fun way to endorse each other. And one thing led to another - I decided to make it public, so more teams can enjoy this cool way of sending appreciation to their teammates and have fun together 🙌

Maria

@valkirilov ooo, that's so cool story! Your passion for pizza really shines through, and it’s amazing how you turned a personal love into something that brings teams together. I love the idea of using something fun and relatable (like pizza!) to boost morale and appreciation. It’s such a creative way to make work feel more human and connected.

Petyo Nachev

PizzaTime is a great add-on for Teams - everybody loves pizza, so I guess there's no better way to show your appreciation towards you colleagues, than a slice of their favorite pizza! Love it!

Valentin Kirilov

@petyo_nachev thank you! Yes, pizza is something universally beloved, which is why I chose it. But who knows… maybe one day, you'll be able to say thanks with something else - like a burger! Only time will tell. 🍔😊

Maya A

Congratulations on the launch! This is a very creative idea! Gratitude is everything. A simple thank you can go a long way .

Mia

This app sounds fun and heartwarming! 🍕 Turning gratitude into a pizza slice to share with teammates is both a playful way to celebrate wins and acknowledge contributions, perfectly blending workplace culture with lighthearted fun. Ideal for remote teams or groups looking to boost camaraderie—after all, who can resist a virtual slice?😉 Definitely worth a try!

Valentin Kirilov

@mia618601587321 I can never resist a slice of pizza... and that’s exactly where the idea began! 😀

Saying "thanks" can sometimes be difficult, so why not make it easier - and more fun - by sending a pizza as a token of gratitude? It starts with a laugh, but it ends with something even better - the feeling of being truly appreciated!

Carolyn

Cuuuuute idea !!!

Valentin Kirilov

@carolyn_lyn thaaank yooou! 😊🍕

Jedidja van der Walt
Launching soon!

As someone who does enjoy pizza, I feel like one should get a pizza once you've given/received 6 slices 🤤

Valentin Kirilov

@jedidjavdwalt oh yes, every time you collect an entire pizza of a specific recipe (six slices of it), you unlock an achievement badge to remind yourself of your progress.

However, there are countless possibilities to celebrate your success. You can convert the virtual recognition into tangible rewards anytime - at the end of the week or on a monthly basis - the decision is yours (your team or company).
