I’ve been using Pipedream for some time now and I think it’s an hidden gem. It makes creating flows much faster and more enjoyable. Also it’s way more flexible than no code alternatives like Zapier or Integromat/Make. There are pros and cons but if you’re ok with writing some code it’s a great alternative.
@igecky - thank your for the comments and review. we couldn't agree more. there are always tradeoffs between platforms with more flexibility vs. those that offer more guardrails for users with less sophistication. we have always tried to focus on solving use cases for developers and code level control was a requirement from day one.
@igecky Cannot agree more with this - its a hidden gem. Building workflow here seems so seamless than others with how inputs are presented. Rooting for Tod & team.
@tod_sacerdoti I do product so I'm not a developer although I'm technical enough to write my own code. I thinks there are solid use cases for more technical product, marketing or data people. The main advantage of Pipedream from my POV is that it eliminates setup time so one can just focus on the logic:
+ Auth is massively simplified
+ It's serverless
+ A number of dev UX features that are designed to simplify flow development
What I wished I had tho is a way to test locally without eating up my invocations while developing.
@igecky - thanks for the feedback. If you are technical enough to write your own code then you are squarely in our target market. We have many users who wouldn't describe themselves as a full-time developer but who are writing code when needed. Managed authentication across 700+ apps is one of the most powerful features of the product for sure.
We will be supporting local development as part of the upcoming workflow serialization project and GitHub integration. Sign up for early access - https://pipedreamhq.typeform.com...
Awesome product.
For a marketer like me, it falls in the sweet spot between offering much more than Zapier, but not requiring in-depth knowledge of JS or lambda functions (there's tons of code you can copy/paste/edit).
Also, their support is tremendous. As a technical product, I reckon a decent junk of their Slack support must be around general developer/JS questions (rather than issues with their product), and they always step up to help. Special shout-out to @dylansather, one of their Co-Founders, who has helped me more times than I can count!
@brandrsn - thanks for sharing your feedback. we pride ourselves on providing great support and have worked hard to scale the teams as we onboard 1000s of new developers each month. @dylansather has led the charge from the beginning and has built out a great team, so it is great to hear that their collective efforts are making an impact on the broader Pipedream developer community.
👋🏼 My name is Tod Sacerdoti, CEO and co-founder of Pipedream.
My team and I are excited to announce the launch of Pipedream 2.0!
Pipedream is an integration platform purpose-built for developers building workflows and connecting cloud services.
You can author workflows without writing any code: Pipedream supports 700+ integrated applications (such as GitHub, Slack, Airtable, etc) and all triggers and action components are open source. But, you can also write code within workflows, extending the pre-built integrations with your own custom logic.
We now support Node.js, Python, Go & Bash and all components are open source.
Since we launched Pipedream on Product Hunt, over 300,000 developers have used the product. Our customers tell us consistently that they love the code-level control when they need it, and the built-in, no code integrations when they don't.
But we’ve also heard consistent feedback that the product needed to be easier to use, support multiple languages (particularly Python), include more integrated applications, and sync with GitHub to store workflows as code.
So, what is new in Pipedream 2.0?
In Pipedream 2.0, we have reimagined the entire product and key features, including:
- Multi-language support including Node, Python, Golang, and Bash
- Data Stores to store and retrieve data across steps & workflows
- Open source triggers and actions for 700+ applications
- Improved workflow builder to test and iterate without impacting live workflows
- Multiple triggers are now supported per workflow
- Improved forms and testing for rapid step-by-step development

What’s coming next?
We’re working on a GitHub integration now, which will let you manage workflow definitions as code. You can still use the Pipedream UI and use Pipedream’s pre-built integration components to build integrations, but you’ll be able to serialize those workflows to code. Sign up to get early access to the GitHub integration.
My cofounder @dylburger and I will be online today to answer any questions.
cheers,
Tod & the entire Pipedream team
p.s. we are hiring! (fully remote)
@tod_sacerdoti@mosherdl22 Thanks Dan! We couldn't have done it without the support and feedback from our amazing community! This release is a major milestone for us and it sets the foundation for what comes next, including git integration and much more!
Pipedream is an indispensable tool, I've been using it since the beginning.
It is very easy and very intuitive to automate tasks and solve problems in an easy way.
In addition, support and improvements are constant. If you want to automate tasks, perform integrations between tools and have flexibility with little or no code, hire Pipedream today.
Congratulations to the whole team for the tool and the release.
@mauromequelussi thanks for the feedback -- that's great to hear! the product has evolved and improved since our early days thanks to the engagement from our amazing community! please keep the feedback coming!
@sujesh_thekkepatt1 - thanks for the comment. we see a love of users building prototypes and testing webhooks. we also see many users running Pipedream workflows in production environments for mission critical applications. if you haven't check it out, I highly recommend seeing our latest features around data stores (https://pipedream.com/docs/data-...), and workflow concurrency and throttling (https://pipedream.com/docs/workf...).
Congratulations on version 2.0. Pipedream is a really user-friendly and powerful tool. We have a basic v1.0 integration for our mobile alerting action and we will create a new v.2 open-source action (on GitHub) soon.
It very simple and awsome product... I loved it from the first day I used it... you can do drag and drop or write a javascript to create fully working backing just within few minutes
