@alteredorange Thanks for finding this out for us. Seems like cheating, to be honest. At that point I could just use a battery case.
@alteredorange It will only need a case until phone makers start incorporating the technology into the phones. Same way wireless charging currently works on the iPhone 7
@alteredorange I don't think that is correct. According to the linked article from Macrumors this works with any Qi enabled device. So this works with a lot of Android devices, with the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus that starts shipping on Friday and with the iPhone X that ships in November – and presumably with any other new device Apple will launch.
@_mochs I'd be all about that! I'm just going off what their site says. I'm assuming they need a special case to guide the magnetic field to the phone. If it works with any Qi enabled device that would be MUCH cooler!
@alteredorange Yeah. Not entirely sure either. They seem to be pretty clever in wording their stuff. They say you don't need a Qi enabled device because you can simply use their case. Which sounds a bit like it would work without the case if your phone supports Qi. But that might just be smart marketing speak. I guess we'll see when they announce more details.

@robjbye Hi Rob! Thanks for checking out our product. No, it does not act as a heater and cook humans. Pi uses a very weak magnetic field, the same type of field existing pad based chargers use. All our products follow existing FCC safety regulations.

Congratulations for presenting at Battlefield yesterday! IIRC, a case is not required on the iPhone X and iPhone 8. Is that right? One piece of feedback about your pitch, no pricing announcement was a bummer. I hope you come prepared with that if you make it to the finals. Good luck!

Whether this works perfect or not at the moment, I applaud someone working towards and finding a solution to truly wireless charging. I look forward to following this to see it progress.

Can it charge the Apple Watch? And if it can, will it charge while I'm wearing it (and is that safe?)?
This seems like a cool product with some very interesting tech. Lots of people are complaining about the case, and it's true that requiring a mandatory case isn't ideal, but I feel like this could be the v1 of something very awesome.
Imagine never having to charge your phone thanks to wireless chargers around your home/office...that would be incredible. Keep up the good work!

Super awesome, much support to you guys. We need more phone manufacturers integrating this technology into their phones. For the longest time, charging devices with a wire was a thing. If this removes this requirement, we'll be stepping into the future pretty quickly. Think about the possibilties this would open up to other smart devices.
Got the chance to look at this up close @ TechCrunch and its an awesome device. I like the design and signed up to receive a notification when they become available. I think one of these puppies is great to have at home, so that I wont forget to charge my phone if I just set it down next to it. Great job guys!

Exited about the technology
Pros:This is actual wireless charging. No physical contact with the device.
Cons:Not know atm
Cons: I would perhaps start with the additional and much stronger magnetic fields you will be exposed to. I would not use this thing even if I got it as a present.
Very interesting product - nice work. Will it be possible to extend the range in future versions of the hardware?

Not the solution to the problem, unfortunately. With everything out right now I'm not sure how helpful this is.

any chance to charge my wireless keyboard (or any other non-smart-devices those cannot stop charging themselves)
