It was founded by a good friend of mine, Jon Sumroy @Sumroy , a full interview with him can be found here: http://crowdfundnation.com/2015/...

@gideonsch Gidon thanks for that ... I've listened to podcasts for years, but this is the first time I've ever been in one!

Not something I need yet, but I must say this is a great idea. I'd love to read the story behind this product.

@gregoiregilbert so ... how's our story?
Jon
@gregoiregilbert ... real start-up in a garage story. Made first prototype from canvas mats, mountain climbing carabiner clips, straps and a sewing machine! Thankfully have a great industrial design partner who took the concept to a beautiful Applesque Gadget!

Hi guys ... I'm new to @ProductHunt thanks for looking at us. mifold is the most advanced, compact and portable child car booster seat in the world ... it's more than 10x smaller than a regular booster seat and just as safe. I actually had the idea for mifold in 2000, I was living on the East Coast and we did the whole 'carpooling' thing. One day I'd take all the neighbourhood kids to school in my car ... but only my kids had boosters; the rest of the week, it was my kids that were unprotected. And it wasn't just carpooling, there were quite a few times when there wasn't a booster seat available (in taxis and rental cars, on vacations and with grandparents, for three-in-a-row, etc.) I thought, if I could made a booster that’s mighty small and mighty strong there could be no more excuses. With a compact and portable device, a child can easily keep one with them all the time and drivers can comfortably keep spares in the glove compartment, door pockets and seat backs; without cluttering up a car and losing cabin or luggage space. That was the motivation, but it took me till 2012 to actually do something about it. I read a research article in Paediatric Magazine in the USA, which showed that 50% of kids in America don't have the right booster when carpooling and I realised that no one had solved the problem. Now, after nearly three years and after working with some of the leading designers, engineers, material scientists and industry experts, we've created #mifold - the Grab-and-Go booster (@mifoldbooster) What do you think? Please feel free to comment and let us have any thoughts, feedback, advice, ideas and questions.
