It's been a while since I looked into push providers but this is something we should consider for the PH iOS app, @davidkmckinney. Curious to hear others' thoughts on this. I.e., help us do our research. :)

@rrhoover @davidkmckinney . One of the critical elements is that a good push notifications service needs to integrate with your analytics. Parse seems to have both under one roof. I have not used Parse yet, but evaluating for our new app.

Just heard the news about Parse shutting down - genuinely devastated, having prototyped so many apps with it (some of which are still on my phone and I use on a daily basis). Serious questions for developers out there: could someone set up a service that uses the newly-released open source Parse Server to pick up where Parse left off - i.e. to make it as easy as it currently is to install and use Parse? http://blog.parse.com/announceme...

Hey guys, I work on Parse. Happy to answer any questions you might have. We've been building stuff for a while and it's exciting to be on PH for the first time!

@ilyasu Hey Ilya, I just started using Parse for Coffee?! (http://www.producthunt.com/posts...) and I noticed that sometimes the client sent push notifications take quite some time (even 10 minutes) to be delivered. Is this normal? Or are there some issues? Else I'm using Parse since a while for broadcast push notifications on other projects, and it's great!

@cpuricelli Can you send me more details at ilya@parse.com? It's hard to tell just from this level of information. What platforms? Targeted or not? Any info would help.

I've been using Parse for a couple of years now, and it has always been a fantastic product - and much more than just Push Notifications. However I use Parse Push in most apps even if I don't need the online storage, Cloud Code, and other functionality. It can be setup in 15 minutes, and is very easy to use to send notifications both from within the app, and also from the online dashboard.

We use Parse for Blush Messenger, not just for push, but also for our entire backend services. Really can't say enough good things about Ilya and his team.

I'm using Parse for a new iOS app that I'm creating with a friend, and all I can say is that it's amazing! Thanks for creating this amazing product!

We use Parse at Ebates for Push. They are the best "free" service and are much better than many expensive solutions. Their recent updates to the Android SDK which support multi-line and custom receivers make a big difference. The only thing I would like to see is faster sending of unique messages. Sending 100K+ messages if its personalized to the user can takes 40-50 minutes. When you send a big batch, it can be under a minute to send 1MM notifications.

the segmentation interface looks a little mixpanel-ish, and i like that.
