Hey Daniel 👋 Congrats with the launch! Love the idea! The more platforms for talented creators to share knowledge - the merrier 🤩 I have some boooring questions for you, though (can skip them if you want, you already have my upvote:) But in case you have some time to chat: - What's the business model? Are you planning on monetisation or is it a project for a social good? - How did you get the first writers on board? Direct outreach? - What blocked you from shipping it earlier? You mention it but it's still unclear what exactly were you unhappy with (UI, content, workflows?) Hope I'll get some answers from you for myself and for my in-depths research of the entrepreneurship mind:) Thanks anyways, for Indie Thinkers

Hi Ana! Thanks for all the great questions! - Just for the social good, no monetization plans. I don’t need money from this and it costs very little to run currently. If expenses become significant, I might open up some form of a donation portal. - I wasn’t satisfied with the number of articles I had. I wanted to launch with hundreds at least, but just takes a lot of time to curate.

Hi Product Hunt! I was inspired by Nadia Eghbal's article, "The independent researcher" and wanted to provide a resource for the discovery of great writing but also another distribution channel for writers. It can be demoralizing to write something that barely anyone reads and I don't think there are enough outlets for creators. I have a confession though. I should have released this months ago. I wrote the first line of code on January 1st and the last line on February 6th. Then I sat on it for all the wrong reasons. 😬 If I'm honest with myself, I'm a perfectionist. Curating this kind of resource takes a lot of time and I, for whatever reason, wanted there to be thousands of links in the database before release. This self-imposed requirement though gave me fuel to kick the proverbial can down the road. I kept pushing off the curation work, even though the MVP was completed. Don't make the same mistake. When the MVP is complete, just ship it. Ok.. now that I got that out of the way... If you have a blog post, article, or thread you want to share. You can submit content for consideration directly on the website. For the curious, I built Indie Thinkers with AWS Amplify for hosting, Algolia for search, and Gatsby for the UI. The design was inspired by The New York Times. If you have any questions about how I built it or if you have any suggestions for how I can improve it feel free to reach out anytime.
