Origin AI is the world's first AI product team that lets you design, generate and deploy software from a single, non technical prompt. Deploy to Origin's cloud or securely in your own to avoid infosec headaches.
Justin, thanks so much for hunting Origin AI! 🎉
After 18 months of building—a journey full of late night challenges, occasional wild desperation and finally some pretty cool breakthroughs—it’s amazing to see it live for public beta! 🚀
Origin AI is the world’s first complete AI product team. It lets non-technical users generate and deploy software either into Origin's cloud or entirely within their own cloud environments (to avoid infosec headaches)
We’re so excited to see how people use Origin— please do jump in and sign up for a free account, we've got it set up so that you can build simple applications for free: https://www.theorigin.ai
Key highlights:
- AI agents mirror a full product team: architecture, design, development, QA, and DevOps.
- Transforms non-technical ideas into a product backlog, executes it, and deploys to AWS.
- Enterprise users can deploy in their own cloud environments.
Can't wait to get broader thoughts and feedback (even the bad stuff).. Got questions about how we're doing it or what the limits are? Just ask!
I’ve been lucky enough to be able to follow Origin’s journey from the beginning and i can’t believe how powerful it has become! From prompt to prod-grade infra deployed on AWS is a dream (especially true for anyone that has ever worked with AWS 😅)
Congrats on the launch! It’s incredible to see how much progress you’ve made since the early beta versions last year.
A few questions:
1. How has user feedback from the beta shaped the product we see today?
2. What are some of the most impressive use cases you’ve seen so far?
3. Are there plans to support additional cloud providers beyond AWS in the future?
@rmateu Thanks Roberto! Good questions...
We've been working with a host of companies in private beta for the last few months... there are some cool examples on the site (https://www.theorigin.ai) but the most impressive was probably a full team scheduling tool for award winning London digital and design agency Poppins. You can check out the demo version here: https://float-master-orchestra-7... (user: Admin, pass: Admin2024!).
The beta has caused constant iteration, the big take away being that people generally want to build quite "big" solutions.. (and why wouldn't they!).. that's the reason Origin breaks things down into a project plan of tasks - trying to accomplish a full application in one go just isn't possible with current LLM technology under the hood.
We've also seen cool use cases using the GPT 4o API to write visa applications and for complex workflow tools like the one we did for a large energy customer.
In terms of AWS - for sure, but we realised that to build enterprise scale apps we need to find some kind of beach head. There's nothing inherent in the architecture of Origin that would stop it building on say Azure or Google cloud - it just needs to be "taught" how to do those things (because training data.... is not enough :)).
Let me know if you have any more questions! Happy to tell you more..
I've loved watching Luke and the team build Origin AI over the last year and a half and am really pleased to see it in public beta. Not only does it make development a breeze, but it also handles deployment - something other tools stumble on or don't support at all.
This is great for non-technical teams and anyone who wants to deploy a fully functioning app ASAP. If you want to get your tool into people's hands fast, check out Origin (https://www.theorigin.ai)
Great work Luke 💪

@crishellenase Hi Crishelle! Thanks :) We found that this is necessary component to building much larger applications. You can't go to that level within Origin at the moment, but if it's building in your own cloud you could enforce those rules yourself using the console (for example, to make sure it couldn't talk to other key systems or infrastructure).
It feels like magic! You type in what you need—just like creating a regular JIRA ticket—and hit enter. Then you hear a "ding", indicating that the task is complete. You can actually see the changes in real time! It also breaks down each request into sections for further refinement, which isn't something you can achieve using Cursor or ChatGPT alone. You can tell a lot of work has gone into building this.
It's an amazing start. The gap between end users and shipping products has never been narrower. As an innovator on the "crossing the chasm" timeline, I believe this presents a huge opportunity. I can't wait to see what people will ship using this!
WOW! Congratulations on bringing this to life and now opening up so many possibilities to humble non-techies like myself - cannot wait to tinker and build with OriginAI! Following your journey with enthusiasm and gratitude 🚀
Congrats guys! Very excited to see Origin AI officially enter public beta! 🚀 It’s the first AI-driven product that I've seen that can turn simple prompts into fully functional software. Definitely worth checking out: https://alpha.theorigin.ai
