With so many fitness apps out there that seem to take an arm's length approach to counting steps and tacking on a leaderboard, I like how this differentiates itself by offering holistic health tips and incentivizing us with rewards I can actually relate to! That said, I'm not sure if this also integrates into my existing steps trackers like Fitbit or Jawbone, etc. Any plans for that @janewang?
+ @gillianim: this seems relevant to have on your radar based on your question yesterday about fitness apps.
@alirtariq One step ahead of you (no pun intended)! We already integrate with both Fitbit and Jawbone, as well as a bunch of others such as Misfit and Polar.
We also connect to popular apps like Google Fit, Apple Health, Underarmour's "MapMyFitness" and Strava as well as many more :).
@alirtariq@janewang@gillianim Or if you don't have a wearable you can use your phone's accelerometer to track steps. Use Google Fit or Apple Health on your smartphone.
It pays to be healthy for once. OptimityX is a pocket health coach that you can connect your phone or any wearable or popular health app and Optimity will automatically pull 6 months of your habit history and reward your healthy habits with points that you can convert into $25 reward cards.
@trentbigelow The 2 products are quite different, since Evidation is patient focused, and we are looking at the pre-patient population: i.e. 20-50 year olds who are inactive, but do not currently have any chronic conditions. You can read more about the proactive approach here http://blog.myoptimity.com/proac... and of course, keep the questions coming!
Was literally looking for something like this yesterday. I found Pact, but found their app to be super poorly developed and riddled with bugs and issues.
@itsthisjustin Definitely, you are right. The user experience is very important to achieve health outcomes: OptimityX is available in native IOS and Android apps, and crafted with love! We take user feedback very seriously. :) See if this is a contrast to other apps you see!
This looks really cool. Two questions: 1. Does this work only in the US? Any plans on expanding to other countries if so. 2. Do businesses have to sign employees up or can individuals sign up too?
@nikhiljoisr Answers 1. It works anywhere in the world! App available in English/French/Chinese.The health planning and nutrition counselling is available in English only currently. The retailer giftcards are available for US and Canadian retailers. 2. Individuals can sign up for OptimityX, while business can buy group plans with Optimity. The product hunt promotion is for 30-day free for all individuals. Just put your personal emails as the "company email" and get your invite code: www.myoptimity.com/optimityx :)
Very interesting concept, I've seen fitness conscious products but it's nice to see you integrate the employee health aspect in. Two questions:
1. What devices do you integrate with for tracking? (eg. miband or amazfit)
2. Do you allow joining together larger groups of users? (ie. compete against another group/company)
All the best going forward!
@charliecfeng Hey Charlie,
1. We integrate with many popular apps and devices ( @Fitbit, @Jawbone, @Amazfit and mibands). We also give you credit from steps on other popular health apps ( @runkeeper, @strava, @mapmyfitness). You can connect to these by going to the side menu and click on "Connect Devices"
2. Yes, we can. There are teams available on OptimityX, so you can use the feedback button to let us know if you are part of a company or organization, and we will create a team for you. Your teams will then show up on the leaderboard, and "Teams" will take you to the inter-company/group competition! So far I see @NYU, @MAC, @WellCalm, and @Rachelotterway as teams in OptimityX. So message us to start your team any time!
Hm this is interesting. I will try to install that and see how that works. The problem I saw with this kind of applications is that it is sending too much push notifications that interrupt me or distract int he middle of the process. You should be careful with those probably
@eugene_vyborov Another great point here. Nudges are important to keep us on track. We are experimenting with different types of notifications and definitely let us know if you find one works better for you than another. Feedback= improvements!
@goldman_artem Oh, it's a topic near and dear to my heart. I was inspired by what happened with my mom's health (where we didn't take a proactive approach), by my own experience of prioritizing work above health (gaining 20lbs on my first job), by my experience in managing health risk in clinical trials... I'm building something that helps people like you and I.

Great moves guys, proud of you, keep it up. I bet you make babies smile :) I appreciate you. Another one. Looking forward to your updates. I like your style.
Of course I'm kidding. But seriously, I'm one of your early users (and still number one on your dashboard π) and I'm also a fitness geek. I'm following hints which your app provides and I feel myself much more alive.
Great job guys, keep going.
@cu7ious Thanks Sergii!! Really love the support! Thanks for being with us for the long run and very glad you're enjoying the Optimity experience!
By the way, is there any kind of content that you would like to see in the future? Don't hesitate to reach out at jwang@myoptimity.com and we'll see if we can get you some more content you like :).
Looks cool!
My boss is always complaining that the startup life doesn't leave enough time for exercise, and I tend to agree -- I'll ask him if we can get this set up for our team!
@congermatt don't give ultimatums when you know the result is going to disappoint you........ although, as Nasty Nas says, "I never sleep, cuz sleep is the couzin of death"
After my office started getting free donuts sent to us, we've been looking for a way for everyone to stay fit. It was our #1 team member request. This might be it! I'm trying this out and hopefully getting the rest of my company on board!
Hey Hunters! Loving the community, thank you for all the support! We'll be answering questions and also rolling out special PH milestones for you guys, so stay tuned!
