Seriously though, I've been hearing some good things about Granola -- the nice thing about the Omi Community is we've got a good group who have tried every device and we get to share feedback and thoughts on all the platforms in our Discord community or on the Omi Community Meetups on Fridays.

I was personally drawn to the Omi project because it's open source so you can look at the code, extend it or benefit from others in the community building on Omi too!

There are a number of us in the community who are ADHD or ND as well, this is what excited us about the project as well -- as long as you don't lose your Omi it's so small but the desktop app means you get another way to tap into the benefits too.

Sounds interesting. Where does the audio get saved? What about confidential information in meetings?

@paul_hoeppner I would also like to know where all of this 'continual listening' audio get stored? While this sounds like it could be very useful. If it is all getting dumped to Omi Cloud, then that is a lot of privacy and security to give up in exchange.

@paul_hoeppner  @aj_d The audio doesn't get saved, it's transcribed via Deepgram and then discarded unless you want to save it, then you can capture it with a webhook or one of the apps from the Omi app store -- for example Omi Audio that stores the audio to your Google Drive thanks to the audio bytes webhook

  • Speech Profiles: Voice characteristics used to identify speakers in recordings

  • Person Information: Data about people you identify in conversations, including names and voice samples

  • Memories/Facts: Information extracted from conversations and stored as memories or facts for future reference

We may share your information with third-party service providers to help us operate, provide, improve, and promote our Service. These third parties have access to your information only to perform specific tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.
