Hi ProductHunt 👋 I’m very happy to share “one sec” 2.1 with you 🥳 For those of you, who don‘t know about “one sec” so far: I was able to heavily reduce my social media usage – and have lost interest in social media apps in many aspects thanks to “one sec”: Unconscious phone habits are prevented right away (“Why did I even want to open that app?”) and long-term habits change because these apps appear less appealing to your brain (their “dopamine on demand” effect fades away). After two weeks, my screentime was down by 40%. Now after one year of using it, the urge to open certain apps (e.g., Instagram to check on stories) has completely faded away. One sec re-banaced those dopamine-on-demand effects, because now opening apps is not “on-demand” anymore. Wonderful and helpful app. Helps me to check social media less! I use it on every day basis and it simply works! Thanks for shipping it! P.S. “follow the dot” exercise is super effective on preventing unwanted apps openings. I would say the same effectiveness as breathing exercise.

Great idea. It totally makes sense why this would work. This sometimes happens for me when I open a social media site out of habit, but it's is taking a second or two to load. That gives me enough time to slow down and decide if I really need to be going there right now. And this app sounds like it would formalize and augment that same mechanism.
