@mxsawyer Is there a similarity to Penny (and for that matter, any other financial assistant using a chat interface)? Yep, that's how product paradigms as ubiquitous as chat work. To try and completely reinvent obvious chat design patterns would have been to the detriment of the user experience. When using the app, it becomes pretty obvious that there are a bunch of differences. Some of those differences are manifested in a different UI, but many of them are manifested in the set of features. The only true similarities I see to Penny are: it's a chat interface, primarily, and both use a female persona. I can tell you that Penny was simply a competitor (among many others) that we looked at long after the design process was in full-motion. We'd already identified the main functionality and UX paradigms via a rigorous sketching, paper-prototyping, and wireframing process that I converted to interactive prototypes. I'm happy to explain more, if people are curious!

In the coming weeks, Olivia will start helping users manage their day-to-day spending better by telling them how much they can safely spend daily. Shortly after that, she will start giving users challenges in various spend categories (e.g. eating out, groceries, mobile bill etc.) and help them complete the challenges by offering insights. @alexcohenbirch Try the Safely Spend notifications and calendar view, if you haven't already. I find that to be a remarkably helpful feature that keeps me on track and is built for a spend-first generation that doesn't always do a great job at long-term planning.
