Obsidian 1.0 — A brand new look, a fresh way to browse, a new start

I love using Obsidian to keep track of all my notes and try to bring order to my chaos! Love these new updates!

It has a beautiful interface and it's amazing style, and it has a little swag to it. Obsidian is one of my favorite apps of all time. Been using it for over a year and it is now a solid version 1 even though it's been working great for the last year in very workable betas. The community is very helpful and the community plugins are amazing, I have 51 plugins installed. The tabs and tab stacks really make organizing easy. And the mobile app on my iPad is a very good companion to the desktop app.

Cofounder of Obsidian here. We're excited to announce that Obsidian 1.0 is live! 1.0 brings a complete redesign to desktop and mobile. It's not only nicer to look at, but also much easier to use and theme. We've also prioritized using more native OS features for menus, windows and many details. 1.0 also introduces a new way to browse your second brain: tabs. Tabs make it easier to explore many ideas at once. Tabs can also be stacked so you can glide through your thoughts with ease. Happy to receive the version 1.0. I have been using it for a while now and it has become now my primary tool for all thing text - daily journal, meeting notes, idea bank, study notes, etc. Thank you makers for the awesome work.

Favorite note-taking app! Tried everything from Bear to Notion. Stayed with Obsidian Really great product which is really fast and has a lot of customization & functionality power

awesome to see this @erica_xu , congrats on 1.0! I've been using for over a year now, and can't say enough good things. Aside from just being a solid note-taking app, graph view is the killer feature for me. There's something oddly satisfying about visualizing the relational data in my head! Nailed it.

I've been an Obsidian user since Sep2020—It's crazy to see how much it has grown. Out of all of the applications I interact with, Obsidian is by far the most essential to my daily life. I just want to thank the team and community for creating so much damn value to people like myself. Cheers to hitting 1.0!

Congrats! I've been using Obsidian v0.15.9. I don't think I have been using Obsidian to its fullest ability (like bi-directional links, knowledge graphs, templates, and a bunch of plugins), but I really like how fast it is to quickly jot down notes, add #tags, see all the notes related to the tags, use some markdowns, and copy a bunch of code snippets into the doc. The new Tabs feature is awesome and the UI is a lot cleaner.

This is an absolutely incredible app with an amazing community! Definitely my no1 recommendation when people ask me about software.

Obsidian is one of the better note-taking app that's come out in the past years. Only grip I have is - Share as a webpage is expensive and not really customizable. If we had a way to alter the looks it would be better. Password support is good as well. - Mobile app support can be waaaay better.

Obsidian is such a gem! 😜 I love everything about it. And this redesign is so gorgeous I decided to drop my theme.

I'm not exaggerating when saying that if I could only use a single app for work or my personal life, it would be Obsidian. Research, work, creativity, productivity—it has great defaults and insane potential thanks to it's plugins ecosystem. Grats on the 1.0 launch!
