Thanks to Kat for the hunt! My name is Chen and I’m one of the creators of Nototo along with Austa and Evan. Nototo is a spatial workspace that allows you and your team to organize all of your information on a single canvas. With Nototo, you can zoom out to see all of your notes/folders/tasks in one view. You can collaborate with your teammates and see their cursors working beside yours. And magically, you’ll be able to close your eyes and imagine your workspace as if it’s still right there. Some of you may have seen Nototo on Product Hunt from over a year ago when we accidentally got hunted by Jerald(thank u jerald :))) and became product of the day. The support from Product Hunt was a big contributor that untimately enabled Nototo to evolve from a college kid’s dream project to a YC backed startup that currently employs 3 people. For that, I am forever thankful for this community. Since then, we’ve completely changed the design (both the aesthetics and organization system) yet our fundamental assumption has not altered one bit. And that is: All humans have a superpower when it comes to encoding spatial/visual information. We can all close our eyes right now and “see” the space around us without putting in any conscious effort. Now, imagine the same, but with your digital workspace. We’re now onboarding - small teams of 2-5 - individuals that write on a daily basis. If that’s you, feel free to DM me Twitter or join the waitlist www.nototo.app!

@chen_w thanks for sharing Nototo and engaging with the community. This is definitely something I was looking for. I have tried Notion, FigJam, and other virtual boards/offices but am still looking for a tool that can sits at the happy confluence of usability and functionality. Would love to test it. DMing the Nototo Twitter account right away!

Nice relaunch, looks great! I really liked the idea of landmarks in the previous Nototo. In practice did you find that those were helpful in a spatial interface? Do you think that's something you'd explore with this version?
Chen Wang
@anthonyec Thank you! First of all, fantastic questions! Short answer is no. Long answer: One of the reason why we removed those "landmarks" is because we felt like they didn't add much in terms of helping me navigate, yet it added a lot of unnecessary complexity + friction. Another problem is that by using WebGL as our main visual stack, it made it difficult to build features. At the end of the day the core loop of Nototo will be to record/retrieve information so anything that makes it harder to improve the core loop should be reconsidered.

Have been lucky enough to beta test Nototo for the last few months and I gotta say, this is one of the best note-taking/organization tools out there right now. Kudos to the team for shipping!
JP Pincheira
Congrats team! Looks like just what hybrid and remote teams need! We will give it a try at @startpack!
Natalie Karakina
Looks like a daughter of Miro and Notion

I was looking for a way to describe it too, you did it gracefully. Sounds very interesting. A bit of an early launch in PH though?
Francesco D'Alessio
Wow, how Nototo has grown since its first version!
Chen Wang
@francescod_ales hey Francesco, perhaps it's time for a new collab 😊

I am a teacher and can see how this layout would help me imagine and articulate the scope and sequence of the learning in my courses and better how it all fits together. I am teaching another teacher to take over one of my courses. Teaming up with him on Nototo would rock.

Incredible. Nototo might just be what solves a problem that every company ever has had - finding documents. Congratulations on the launch!
Páraic McLean
This looks great! Can't wait to try out the product. I think it could really help with all the writing I do for Slidebean's social media and newsletter content.
Alexey Shashkov
Looking well. What's the key difference from Miro and Notion? Why is it more powerful?
Irthu Suresh
It was about time nototo popped up here. Have used the product for over a year. Brilliant when it comes to compartmentalising your thoughts. Big fan of the product.
Rahul Nair

I like the visual folded, inception-like view.
Chen Wang
@stas_kulesh Thank you very much Stas, means a lot coming from you!
Bogdan Ionita
Cool preview, good integrations I guess could boost this right away.
Chen Wang
@bogdan_ionita Yea, definitely :) We've spent most of the past few months designing the system, and now that's in place it's time to look into those! It'd be a personal dream if I could open up a figma file right in Nototo.
Nick Hladush
