NotionApps
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I’m Sameer, co-founder of NotionApps — and I’m super excited (and a little nervous) to finally launch 2.0 today! We are a tiny team of two, and we launched a basic first version here in late 2023.
Since then, we've launched a bunch of new features, over 6000 users from 120+ countries who run their businesses on Notion built apps using the tool. These include everyone from artists, coaches, content creators to churches, football fan clubs, NGOs to field services, agencies and educational institutes.
The apps they built have been used by 100,000+ end-users. We never imagined such a wide and diverse range of use cases when we first started!
What is NotionApps and what does it solve,
NotionApps lets you build fully functional mobile and web apps by turning Notion as a reliable backend. A no-code app builder designed specifically for Notion users. Think client portals, internal tools, CRMs, member portals, resource directories or any custom apps— all built on top of Notion.
We built this because we saw how many people were running their entire workflows inside Notion — but when it is time to share, collaborate, or scale that data, they were stuck with tables and pages that just didn’t feel “app-like.”
So we thought: what if you could keep using Notion for what it’s great at (content + databases), and layer a clean, usable app on top of it — instantly?
Some important features,
• Apps are linked to databases and also content in Notion pages.
• Seamless Notion integration with two-way auto sync
• Responsive on all devices — both desktop and mobile
• Granular permissions (hide/show data based on users)
• Enable login/signup via OTP and Google
• Customizable forms that add or update to your databases directly
• 40+ components: Lists, Grids, Maps, Signature, Button, Files, Media, Barcode Scanner, Menus, and more
• Apps are automatically localized, supporting 15+ languages.
• Works even if your users are not on Notion and your databases are private
• Custom branding and custom domains
• Custom CSS/JS (In development)
• Crisp/Intercom Integration (In development)
• Enterprise SSO (In development)
Closing thoughts
Inspite of being a small team (my CTO Jatin + me), we are able to constantly improve the product, thanks to the support and feedback from the Notion community. We’ve seen use cases we never expected, and it’s been amazing to watch fellow Notion users create full-fledged apps without writing a single line of code.
Would love for you to give it a spin and tell us what you think! We’re hanging out here all day to answer questions, help you build your first app, or just nerd out about Notion workflows 💬
Your support will mean a lot to us and help us take the platform to more Notion users.
Thanks for checking us out ❤️
— Sameer
@sameer_sanagala Sameer and Jatin, excited to see the latest version of NotionApps. You have come a long way since I hunted you the first time. What’s the most creative use case you’ve seen built using this tool so far? :)
NotionApps
@rohanrecommends Hey Rohan, we really have come a long way, thanks for hunting us the first time.
The use cases of the tool surprise us from time to time. While we see a bunch of conventional business use cases like internal tools, client trackers, etc, its the creative ones that always catch our eye, tough to choose a favourite but here are some off the top of my head,
- churches (yes multiple!) building apps for their members
- a football club app for fans to stay up to date about their players
- an anime tracker app
- a stand up comedian built an app for his community
- a theatre company built apps for casting and production
I will stop there before I turn this into a blog post, haha!
@sameer_sanagala Wow, those are some really cool and unique use cases / apps. I am thinking to create a CRM for my community. :)

Hello Product Hunt!
I’m Jatin, the other co-founder of NotionApps. Our NotionApps 2.0 launch has been a long time coming. We’ve shipped so much since our last launch that we just had to tell people about our kickass Notion-based tool.
Sameer has already shared all the features we’re excited about, so I thought I’d take you on a little journey — how the tool came to be and what we’ve learned along the way.
We first launched Utilize, a no-code tool to build apps from Google Sheets, back in late 2019. Over the next three years, we struggled to gain traction. Competition increased, and our growth slowed. We’d build features, get a few new customers, but they’d end up churning.
By late 2022, we were running out of money and had to make a decision about the future of the company. As a last hurrah, we decided to pivot: build a no-code tool on top of Notion. Our thinking was simple — Notion was growing fast, and if people were frustrated with spreadsheet usability and preferred apps instead, the same might hold true for Notion databases. It was just a hunch, and honestly, we were pretty sure it would fail.
We built NotionApps in March 2023. To our surprise, it started gaining attention from Notion users who resonated with the vision and saw how it could complement their Notion setup. The tool grew steadily over the next few months. Our initial Product Hunt launch brought in a few paying customers.
But of course, it's never that easy. Growth was still too slow, and our runway was shrinking. As a last-ditch effort, we launched a lifetime deal. The idea was that LTDs would help us stay afloat while we built up recurring revenue. It worked! We got a solid wave of purchases that helped us stabilize without running out of cash.
Since then, our growth has been steady and healthy. Our users love how the tool complements Notion and makes it accessible across their organization. With this launch, we hope to open the next chapter of our journey.
Our goal is to make NotionApps the most powerful and effortless — app builder for Notion. Soon enough, building an app will be just like having a conversation with a friend. :)
As I reflect on this moment, I’ve come to realize how hard building a company really is. It’s been a slog — sometimes a privilege, sometimes a test of self-belief, time, and sacrifice. But regardless of what happens today, I feel grateful — to Sameer, my friends, my family, and to Notion (for building such a mind-blowing product).
Thank you stopping by and supporting us.
Jatin.
@jatinarora such an inspiring journey. Great product
@jatinarora Thank you for sharing - this was so wonderful to read!
Feel like using an app built only for our team :)
Honestly, I've been a little bit nervous if our team members ruin the structure by mistake.
But with NA, I can still let them use notion, but with safety.
Congratulations!
NotionApps
@pritraveler Great to hear that, Yong! We did come across this concern many times, Notion is great as a productivity tool but the page experience can be limiting especially when you want to restrict data access to your users.
This is why enabling granular data restriction is one of the primary features of the tool. We would love for you to try it, we are just a message away if you need any help.
I drifted off using Notion towards the end of last year, particularly as I'm more on the go now and thought the Android version of Notion isn't ideal for my needs.
So went I went looking for solutions at the start of the year I couldn't get over how good this NotionApps option is. I use it for basic enough daily updates and it is ideal for this. It's very customisable as well and any queries I had with it I was able to reach out to the team who got back to me right away.
I look forward to continuing with the tool and seeing how it grows!
NotionApps
@david_mcgurrin If the product helped extend your use cases for Notion and get back to it, it is a huge win for us.
I am glad we could be of help to you, David. Sometimes even I am surprised how quickly @jatinarora resolves queries haha. Can't wait to see your apps becoming more useful to you, as the tool grows.
I'm using NotionApps to create private portals for teams & external partners, over Notion. More than often, many people are lost in Notion, not finding the things they should work and focus on; being able to create custom portals where invited people get access only to specific data with specific read/write access is more than important: it is crucial ! So NotionApps solves this big issue.
One thing i dream of for version 3.0 of Notion apps is to be able to adjust custom workflows and customize the interface, adding more information from Notion pages for examples.
Looking forward, and in the meantime: very useful tool ! Thanks NotionApps team.
NotionApps
@ulfisch Hi Ulrich, a big thanks to you, Jatin and I learned a lot from your use cases. Thanks for your honest thoughts, and stressing on the main pain point of data sharing that the tool solves. And, we hear you loud and clear. 3.0 will be even more customizable, custom CSS/JS is high on our roadmap!
NotionApps 2.0 really feels like the missing bridge between structured Notion data and a customer-ready web experience.
A couple of things that, in my opinion, would make it an even better solution to have in a growth stack: a “staging → production” toggle so changes can be previewed safely before clients see them; native webhooks or Zapier triggers for when records are updated (so marketing automations fire in real time); and a low-code theme editor for teams that want deeper branding control without waiting for the upcoming custom CSS/JS feature. 🙏
NotionApps
@gianmaria_caltagirone We love how you called it the missing bridge :) Having a staging/testing environment to publish to is some great feedback, noted. Currently all unpublished changes by default remain in the draft state and are not shown to your users.
Native webhooks and custom CSS/JS are in the immediate roadmap, we are looking forward to roll them out. Well, there you go - a sneak peek to 3.0 :D
Notiostore
Congrats guys 🎉🎉
NotionApps
@chape Thanks David, for your support all along!
Love how it turns Notion into a full-featured web app builder—no code, no hassle.
NotionApps
@supa_l That is exactly what it is built for, Supa. Sharing your Notion pages especially with stakeholders like clients, vendors, partners etc might be hassle and has limitations UI and functionality wise.
Do try the tool if you haven't yet. Would love to hear your thoughts.
NotionApps feels like a missing layer between structured Notion data and truly interactive user experiences. You've bridged that gap with impressive flexibility — two-way sync, granular permissions, localization… it’s a no-code builder done right.
NotionApps
@kay_arkain Thanks, Kay! Funnily enough, when we first launched on Product Hunt, we described it as "the missing piece of Notion".
Back then, it was just an MVP. But like you rightly pointed out, we've since added all the necessary building blocks (even more in the pipeline) to make this a fully functional app builder, and designed specifically for Notion users.

@divyansh_tiwari7 Thanks Divyansh. The tool does have all the essential building blocks to get you started. On top that, we have an exciting pipeline of new features. 3.0 coming soon :D

This is excellent stuff, @sameer_sanagala So happy to see NotionApps 2.0, it looks mighty impressive and a lot of new updates since I saw it the last time. This feels like a week of Notion launches, can't be a coincidence, right?
NotionApps
@jaipandya Thanks, Jai. You might not believe this, but we really had no clue Notion is launching this week!
An Advanced version is here! Notion apps itself was revolutionary, and now Notion apps 2.0 is going to be amazing. I have high expectations from it. That doesn't mean any pressure on you guys, but I'm sure you guys will deliver.
NotionApps
@harshactually Haha right, no pressure. Thanks for the kind words, Harsh!

Big W guys 🔥
NotionApps
@capt_nandu Thanks Nandu for the support! Long way to go!
@NotionApps I love the no-code approach 🎉 Are there built-in analytics or usage dashboards so I can track how clients interact with my app?
Wristband
Congrats @sameer_sanagala and @jatinarora -- super exciting! Love what I'm seeing in the platform already, and I think this is super helpful for organizations. Looking forward to seeing it grow! 🎉
Notionapps has so many use cases for my business. I manage all my work inside Notion, but didn't want to give full access to my clients, so I built a client-facing portal. I'm also starting to build a resource hub in there. I've got more ideas, but trying not to go too crazy and do things one at a time! Definitely recommend Notionapps. Plus the founders are great - really responsive and constantly improving.
