Notion for iOS - A collaborative editor for notes, tasks, and wikis

by
Top Product

A magical editor that blends real-time documents, wiki-like organization, and lightweight tasks into a single tool that can handle pretty much all of your knowledge and collaboration needs.

It also works offline and syncs great with the browser/Mac/Windows app!

Hey guys, Notion co-founder here 👋 Since launching Notion for browser/desktop last year, an iOS app has been our top request— and boy is it hard to build a cross-platform mobile editor! After many months of hard work, it's finally ready for the big time 🤠 Once you download it, be sure to check out some of the unique features: -- Edit with drag & drop: it's super handy for organizing lists or prioritizing to-dos. Once you drag & drop, the fun don't stop! (We believe all editors should be like this) -- Organize as wikis: no more messy folders! Nest pages inside each other and easily interlink between them. If you like Workflowy and other outliner apps, you'll love this. -- Sync with desktop apps: need real keyboards? Download Notion for Mac/Windows at notion.so/desktop. It works in the browser too! -- Offline mode: after you visit a page, Notion will cache the page for offline access. It will sync automagically next time you go online. Let us know what you think! We'll be here all day answering questions 😉

@cristiandan It's not in the pipeline yet but a lot of people are asking for it. We'll do something about it.

@ivanhzhao Hi Ivan. I liked this product so much. When will you launch for Android?

Can't recommend these guys enough. They have a unique product which can be used to create visually malluable and capable documents. The potential here is huge. Just waiting for the Android release!

It's the best note taking app by far and I use it for almost everything, from planning, writing documents, note taking, issue tracking, literally whatever... It grows steadily and it's well supported, with new features coming out frequently. Can't wait for Notion to support offline data and receive improvements to it's search engine and notification system. All of which is coming up next 😊

Pros:

Amazing user experience. It's easy to structure any kind of document as thoughts flow through your brain, and it does that beautifully.

Cons:

Doesn't work offline. Search engine needs some love. You don't get notified when collaborators update documents.

Sergio Sala
It does work offline, it shows a OFFLINE tag and sync the info whenever it gets a connection.
Andrea Di Marco
@sergiosa_la It DOESN'T work off line dude. Of course if suddenly network goes down local cache kicks in.. Now quit the app, go off line and then start your app again. Surprise.... 😅
Andrea Di Marco
@sergiosa_la @ivanhzhao Thanks @ivanzhao you know how much I love Notion already 😃 I hope the baby will grow up and it will be possible to truly work off line, much like Evernote, with a local store. It would be great to be able to selectively pick pages to work off line as well, and not have to sync up everything.

Great Software but no offline search & no iOS Spotlight search... :(

Congrats on the 🚀 guys! I've loved using Notion on Mac for the past year (has it been that long?) and I'm sure the iOS version is going to make the entire experience even better. Please accept this Medium-style token of appreciation: 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

I cannot recommend Notion. As soon as I hit my trial limit I upgraded without hesitation. I'm using Notion to deliver design documentation with a slew of different kinds of deliverables. Notion is the only solution I've come across that actually allows me to deliver these items in one cohesive link, rather than sending out a link dump of many different services.

The iOS companion just makes this service even more powerful. If you're not using Notion, I'm sad for your productivity.

Pros:

Absolute control over your documents

Cons:

I wish they'd power through their backlog faster? 😂

You cannot recommend Notion, yet you love the product?

"I cannot recommend Notion..." -- 🤔 Are you sure? 😂
Robot Devil Co.
When you say "I cannot recommend" notion it means that you think notion is a bad product. Did you mean to say that it is a good product? Or do you think it is a bad product?

Guess I'll add the obligatory: Android version in the works?

@cacarr Yep! A lot of the hard work is done already. We can accelerate it if more people asking for it.
Tetsu Osnaya
@cacarr @ivanhzhao YES. Please, we need an Android version. I love Notion is the best app of notes, we will have task notifications? That would be awesome.
cacarr
@ivanhzhao UI-wise, is it going to look like it was straight ported over from iOS, or will it conform to Android design guidelines and feel like a proper Android app?

I use Notion from the first day that they launched their app. I was a beta tester and use iOS app few months. If I have problems I write to support and they solve my problems as soon as possible. It's crazy. I love this app and love Notion. We dropped others software and use Notion for collaborating and organize everything that you want. Congrats with official launched.

I love love love Notion for desktop, and this makes it so much easier to keep notes on the go. Super exciting!

I've been playing around for a while with Notion and I can say that it's great and the App that work very well. Also the Notion team is really reactive and take in account comment and improvement ideas from the community. I love that !

I just setup my Team on Notion. They say it best: With so many tools, it's hard to keep everyone on the same page.

I love their templates. Notion beats Dropbox Paper, Quip, Evernote, Google Drive, and Asana.

Here's why:

1. No more messy folders. Everything in one place.

2. Templates for everything!

3. Markdown support.

4. Focus on collaboration.

Pros:

Finally, 1 tool for everything!

Cons:

Lacks multi-tasking support on iPad in iOS 11

Peter Grillet
Couldn't agree more.

Easily the most inovative product i've seen last years. They have work so hard for weekly update and it's now a tool i use everyday ! Thanks for your work and your sharing centered business model
Cédric Aellen (alienlebarge)
I love Notion ! This is the happy place where I empty my brain and share it with other. I can't recommend it enough.
Mingjie Jiang
Literally the best way to organize your documents... Even better than Google Docs. Rating should be 12/10, and they are always active for help that we might need. Keep up the good work!
Klein Maetschke

Notion can do it all. When other apps have said that, they'd have some glaring weak points where they'd stretched themselves thin. Notion has none of those.

Notion is like a LEGO table for your content.

Pros:

Immeasurably flexible.

Cons:

Offline mode is about the only con I can think of.

I've been heavily using Notion mainly as an internal knowledge base for @Awecelot and also as a flexible intranet replacement with my clients. Beyond the flexibility of the tool, I think Notion has continued to refine the product to ensure the right balance between elegance, usability, and functionality. Additionally, the support and accessibility of the team has been fantastic, and I think they are great at distilling user feedback (including my own) into meaningful iterations. I'm very excited to give the mobile app a go!
J-C Gatuingt
I have been using Notion for iOS (beta) for a couple of weeks. I just love this app. The iOS app is as great as the desktop app, and with it Notion has become my main hub for knowledgebase/wiki/notes, both personal & professional (team). Just try it (trying both desktop and mobile is better I think) and you will see!

To everyone on the Notion team - thank you! Your product has impacted the way our team works in so many ways. I want to highlight on one piece of functionality that isn't getting enough attention: Export to Markdown. Notion's fluid formatting makes it super easy for anyone to get thoughts on to paper. Formatting is super easy, sure, but each element is Markdown compatible! Incredible! As heavy users of Jekyll and Github, exporting Notion docs to markdown makes it possible for our not-as-technical users to write documentation the same way as our more-technical team. We collaborate on webpages, support documents and more in Notion as a team and then export to markdown to publish to our site and GH repos. Can't recommend enough!
