Nokia 8110 4G is the return of the icon. Much like the original, the new Nokia 8110 4G has a curved protective cover (like a banana!) you can slide open to pick up calls and slide back to end them. Most importantly, the phone comes pre-installed with Snake.
For those that always wanted to own Neo's phone, now with 4G:
While I love the nostalgia, I can't imagine switching from iOS (or Android) to KaiOS. Curious to hear from people that plan to buy this.
@rrhoover It's interesting to see how consumers reacted to this two years later. In those two years, the phone itself wasn't a sales hit for HMD, but KaiOS rose to become the third most popular mobile OS in the world. Second only to Android and iOS. Granted, it only has like .5% of the market share (lol), but still.
25 days of standby time! That’s pretty sweet. It could be great communication device for texting and calls if they get apps like WhatsApp, Viber, Telegram and Messenger on KaiOS.
To anyone considering buying this phone: I have it and want to love it but can't recommend it.
It's eye catchingly beautiful (in my opinion) but plagued by issues. Not sure if that's because of KaiOS (since this is the only KaiOS device I have ever tried) or something else.
Specifically:
· it reboots by itself every now and then when idle and collected to the internet. That means you might lose calls and messages until you realize it's rebooted since you have to re-enter your SIM's pin to unlock it.
· preloaded games that can't be uninstalled, and they actually install more with each update. Is this a freaking JOKE? I paid for this phone, it's mine. You have no right forcing stupid games that I don't want on me and not letting me remove them!
· terrible quality D-Pad, tiring to use for more than a minute
· Google contacts sync is actually a one way download. If you make a change in the phone, it's not gonna upload it. If you make a change in Google, it won't be synced to the phone. If you re-sync your contacts to update them (aka download them again) you'll actually be left with duplicates of each and every contact. You have to delete an your contacts and redownload them in order to update them.
I could go on but I'm tired 🙄
Considering there are so many other devices on you (tablet, laptop, etc), it would be pretty cool to shift focus away from the phone and use this as a really powerful hotspot device.

I was 7 y.o. when I for the first time "Matrix", and when I saw this phone I fell in love! 💖 I'm going to buy it without any doubts .
Pros:Incredible design omg! Finally, something new in our modern dull world. Very nice!
Cons:Unfortunately, the OS leaves much to be desired.
