Hi Product Hunt!
I am Stefano, the Founder of Noisli.
I would love to introduce you to Noisli 2.0, our most significant update since launch in 2013, and have your precious feedback.
The service is mainly used to drown out annoying noises in order to better concentrate and to enhance productivity, or to create a pleasant audio environment for relaxing or sleeping.
The new Web version includes the following updates:
• Ability to create user profiles
• Save and share your favorite sound combinations
• Timer, to easily use time management methods such as the Pomodoro technique
• Enhanced text editor, to pleasantly write in a minimal and distraction free environment
Thank you for any feedback,
I currently use Noisli on my Macbook when commuting on the train. It's simple to use and allows me to mix different sounds to get the right combination.
I'm not sure I would want to stream this from the web and incour the cell charges for background noise, though. I would stick with the Mac application and hope that it gets some of these updates.
@stefanomerlo Ok, I feel like an idiot. On my mac I use a different app that is spelled and sounds very similar to Noisli. That's what I get for commenting before I've had my morning coffee....
Thanks for asking @rrhoover
Noisli was born out of a personal need. I was working as a freelance designer from home and had a hard time focusing and being motivated. The thing is that if you work in total silence (e.g from home) or in a noisy place (e.g. co-working space) it has a huge impact on your productivity and can decrease it a lot. In my case the silence and the fact that I wasn't surrounded by other colleagues made me feel isolated and decreasing my focus. I'm very curious about science and I knew the benefits that background noises can have for your productivity, but no tool available was really satisfying my needs and giving me the user experience I was searching for.
Well, that night I decided to create my own tool and basically Noisli was born :)
I use http://noiz.io/ because they have a Mac app in the menu bar. But, I'm really liking the ability to click a button on Noisli and generate a random sound instead of trying to mix my own. I think the only thing your missing is a Mac app (which I'm sure is coming in the future) to make this my go-to product.
I'm one of those people who like focusing at work without being distracted. Noisli is definitely helping me with this. I'm looking forward to a Mac app as well :)
When I first found this through Chrome extensions store, I did not expect Noisli to have such a big impact on my focus and productivity. From now on, I take it with me to every office I move and every computer I use. Noisli is a must-have for an open office and helps you stay sane even when the world around is crushing down.
Pros:
flexible and customizable mixing controls, favorite presets sync across devices
Cons:
I'm a fan, using it for over a year and am pretty happy with it
Absolutely love it! :-) It's just missing a good *osx version* (would buy it instantly) - and a *hair dryer sound* (it seems stupid, but http://bit.ly/1OzHZy1 this video has 8+ million views, so... 😉

Ambient noise increases productivity! What better way to supercharge your day.
Pros:Simple yet necessary app. I usually use it for audio only, but the color changing feature is a nice touch.
Cons:None.
