Luminar 2018 — Make perfect photos in less time

The problem with this apps, including Apple’s own, is that because 2017 is the year “AI” buzz word, the morons with cash, venture capitalists, think that if a product does not have AI and deep learning somehow attached to it can’t be successful, everyone ends finding an excuse to add AI and deep learning tag to their software when to honestly put an AI seal to any software it would need to have passed at least the Turing test but this is another whole story. Current snapshot photography is better than ever and could look better than ever, never before people had access to such powerful snapshot cameras and they tend to carry them everywhere, their phones, we have made a gigantic leap forward in photography but “le mode” of using a thousand presets is its more important threat yet, in the hands of most photographers it simply takes away their individuality, making them have the same look everyone else’s. That it's why I not only can't support but despise the type of apps that not just copy but elevate what Instagram popularized for sharpshooters. Renouncing to their individuality in exchange to be part of a mass of homogeneous average shooters.

My main complain about Luminar is repair tools, that Clone & Stamp, Erase tools is destructive. You can't slightly adjust your RAW settings then cleanup image and then adjust it again. Repair tools just create new flattened image layer (Yes you can adjust that layer, thanks to the great module-based structure of Luminar 2018 but it's not RAW anymore).

Love your website! Looks sooo cool. One question though, when's the DAM coming? And congrats on the launch, already bought my copy :)

The most adaptable, powerful and fun photo editor there is, you can use Luminar 2018 to quickly create stunning photographs. Great for all skill levels, a lengthy list of powerful filters, and an intuitive UI make this a great product.

Luminar has forever changed the way I make photos. I used to have difficulty getting the image from my head to the screen. Luminar is so simple, yet so powerful that it no longer is a problem. Edits happen quick and furiously. The muse has never been easier to court. Thank you Team Skylum! You've rocked my creative world!!

There will always be tweaks here and there. I have both the mac and pc versions and love them both!

Just to let you know that I downloaded the software today and find it very easy to use. I love the presets and the sun rays filter is so awesome!! Thank you guys, good luck!

There are two main thins I like - the easiness to use and the advanced result. As I'm a beginner in photography the usability of the tool is very important to me, presets are also of the big help for a fast and easy to achieve result. And there are also layers - just awesome! I am changing the exact parts of a picture I want, without ruining the rest! Definitely recommend to try!

I've used a LOT of photo editors over the years, and this latest version of Luminar is the best one ever. A super-clean user interface, amazing instant results with the AI-powered filter, LUT Mapping and scores of 1-click presets make it super fast and easy to use. At the same time, incredible power "under the hood" allows anyone to tap into really detailed editing steps if desired. We say that "Luminar helps you make perfect photos in less time" - Believe It!

Luminar is one of the best software I have ever worked with. turns your photos into true images from another world. Simple and intuitive to work with.

in the next update, I would like to see an improved picture in the import and organization of the photos.

I honestly recommend this up coming product because it works very well and I really don't like to be dependent to one big Adobe system which you doesn't own but monthly pay. In combination with Affinity Photo, for me LUMINAR 2018 is a powerful alternative to Lightroom & Photoshop in the future. I'm very excited about this little revolution in the market :)

I'll be conducting a more thorough review in my podcast All Things Photography, but I showed it to my daughter and she already bought herself a copy! That's gotta be a good review right there, because she is not a computer nerdy person (but she is a very good photographer).

Big change from how other programs work — not its fault, since it's not trying to be other programs, but something users should be aware of.

I love Luminar 2018 and have lot of fun using it.

Especially now that there is a Windows version available.

Great software for making your photos even more interesting with intuitive and easy to use interface.

Plus, there is a lot of predefined filters so you can use one of them as a start point and tweak them a little bit to get your own version of color correction.

It changed completely my workflow and made me save a lot of time. I moved from Nik Color Efex to Luminar and the change was excellent, much more powerful than Nik one.
