Signal 2.0 helps top founders & VCs find each other, transforming the fundraising process. 10's of top VCs helped build. Fundraising is medieval. Time to fix it.
Thx for the hunt! I'm one of makers and was a founder myself. I hand researched hundreds of VCs and drove around to tons of meeting. It's 2017 - there has to be a better way to this process by using software.
We used Signal to set up almost half of our investor interactions. The system makes sure we came in with a 'warm' introduction from a friend which greatly improved the odds of a favorable outcome.
Pros:
Very easy to find the VC's that are interested in your companies focus area and funding level.
Cons:
They system could use some gamification to communicate where in the introduction process you are.
Super impressive tool! There is only one big issue I see... the Gmail permissions ask for very sensitive data (all email headers... to / from, subject line). It seems like a ton of proprietary deal flow, and networking data could be exposed, especially if a VC logs in with firm email...
@sebsoler to reveal your actual relationship strengths into the Founder-VC network, the to and from in email headers are used in the calculation. Your email contents and the contents of the headers are never read or used. The to and from information helps founders and VCs understand the depth of relationship that other networking platforms currently don't provide. Often times, founders ping mutual connections of a VC for intros but resulting in nothing because they don't actually know each other that well. Using Signal, we cut through that noise and only reveal strong intro paths through both your trusted networks.
Amazing! When the developing team is made of CEOs and VCs, the outcome is a sleek product for... CEOs and VCs! that really feel the pain of the users. kudos NFX Guild!
It would be great (as a start) if we could connect this to multiple email addresses as many people have multiple nowadays. It would also be great if you could specify "sweet spots"/investing ranges in multiple ways. Many people in venture invest both out of a fund and personally (angel) or have access to SPV vehicles for certain size deals and a fund for others. Pretty cool product otherwise.
Pros:
I like the network idea and finding connections through others.
Cons:
This is only connected to gmail, that you can only connect it to one email (many of us use multiple), and that sweet spots are singular.
I am negative. There is no user manual on how to use the site. No translation into other languages. It is not clear how to find investors in general. The site is intended only for companies and this is its biggest minus. Very few business angels. Designed mainly for the USA.

Our company used Signal religiously during our (successful) seed raise and it's hard to estimate how much time and hassle it saved us.
Pros:Completely cuts the noise of looking for the right investors for your stage, industry, check size, etc. and gives best intro path in seconds
Cons:Initial interaction with product may take a few minutes to familiarize, then it's off to the races
