The Reality of Building Something Big: Our Journey with Nexli
Hi everyone,
I wanted to share an honest perspective on what it really means to build an application from scratch—especially when you're stepping into a space already dominated by giants. It's a conversation we often have among entrepreneurs, and I felt the need to be transparent.
When we launched Nexli.io, our web app for team collaboration, we knew the road wouldn't be easy. People told us things like, "Good luck competing with the big companies that have been doing this for years!" or "The app looks great, but how are you going to stand out among the market giants?" And honestly, they’re right—the competition is fierce, and the challenges are huge. From the tiniest UI optimization to ensuring top-tier performance, every step is a constant learning curve.
But despite the skeptical voices (and sometimes even our own doubts), we’ve chosen to keep going. We’re driven by a deep belief: that there’s still room for tools that truly listen to their users and adapt to their specific needs—tools that feel personal, rather than being one-size-fits-all solutions.
And you know what? The response has been incredibly encouraging. Today, we already have several companies, startups, and freelancers using Nexli every day. They are our compass. We're in constant dialogue with them, receiving direct and valuable feedback that allows us to improve the app daily with a level of agility that large corporations often can't match.
This is a story of persistence, of listening, of building with passion—and believing that even small players can deliver immense value. It's not easy, but seeing how Nexli is helping real teams communicate better, organize their projects, and simplify their daily workflow is the biggest motivation to keep pushing boundaries.
If you're on the journey of building something, don’t let the size of the competition discourage you. The challenges are part of the journey—but so is the incredible opportunity to create meaningful solutions and connect with your community.
Thanks for reading this reflection. If you're curious to see how we're making this happen, feel free to check out Nexli here:
