interesting - we're already using our phones to do this to stream movies onto larger screens, why not for computing as well? also we use for:
-wifi tethering
-storage (as a USB stick)
-much more
Nowhere near affordable if you consider that most people who can't afford a laptop also don't have smartphones/tablets. So instead $129 you will most likely pay $399 (Average Android phone price of $254 + $129 = $383 rounded up to a common price point) making it on par with low to mid range Windows laptops and Chromebooks.
OK, here is an amazing example of how a video can capture you in the first crucial seconds. I AM SOLD!! What a fantastic idea. I can't say it enough. The price is great too - its actually affordable! Well done team, NexDock! I wonder how it'll work with my ipad, my nexus tablet and if i buy a usb sized operating system thingy.
This display can be used as second screen or you can pair it up with a Continuum enabled Windows 10 Mobile device (such as the Lumia 950 and HP Elite X3).
Very cool product (I have wished this existed for a long time) but I'm not sure about the tagline "The world's most affordable laptop"... Because it's not. There are plenty of laptops for the same price or cheaper (the Hisense Chromebook for example). Not to say that this isn't "The world's most...." something else, but it is NOT the most affordable as far as I can tell.
