Neverinstall — The fastest way to run desktop apps

This looks great, kudos to the team! question to the ?makers what about privacy issues, how do you ensure data is safe/not?

Congrats @lakshman_pasala @ram_pasala, does it work for design tools like Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop?

Very interesting product. I just tried it and I can say I'm impressed. Looking at neverinstall and earlier @suhail's product Mighty , it feels like we'll see more and more virtual computers getting their fair share and native machines acting as a thin client in the future. Very excited to see how this pans out. One question ?makers, the current desktop environment seems to be running on a Linux machine, do you also plan to use MacOS in the future? Being an Apple user for a long time, I would feel at home when the interface is something that I use daily.

Hello everyone 👋 👋 👋 , we are super excited to release the public beta version of neverinstall. Thank you so much, @kevin, for hunting us. What is neverinstall? neverinstall allows users to access & run native applications like - Android studio, Chrome, VS Code, IntelliJ, etc. through a local browser. How does it work? We run these applications in cloud-native environments with virtual displays and stream the video directly to the browser while the user's input context (mouse, keyboard, etc) is forwarded to these applications in near real-time. The platform has a very generous free plan for all free applications and as we improve our cloud we intend to make all free applications fully free always. The paid applications will have a BYOL or a fully-loaded pay-as-you-go model. Of course, these might change in the future but keeping the free applications with a generous free plan will not. We believe as access to good and cheap high-speed internet grows everywhere, accessing and using software should change and be a lot more optimal than what it is now. Data Security & Trust All apps on our platform are either ephemeral or persistent as the user chooses. Ephemeral workspaces by nature are short-lived as long as the user is using them and would be deleted (along with all the user data) immediately after the session ends while persisted workspaces will persist user data across sessions with multiple layers of security.

Congrats on the launch folks! I've been a beta tester for the past 2 months and Its been great experience! I've shifted most of my personal browsing and development with teammates to neverinstall. Waiting for new softwares like Blender and Adobe suite to come up on neverinstall and not hear my fan sound again. 🚀 Keep building!

I definitely hate the process of downloading native apps to try it out and having to remember to reinstall if I haven't used it in 6 months. I love this idea!

Super cool product! I would greatly appreciate a traditional email/password sign up option. I don't have any of the accounts (gmail, apple, twitter, etc.) you require for sign up.

We iterated our product from a no install dev workspace to no install any desktop application platform. We realized that streaming applications have immense potential in solving key problems - Saving hardware resources Modern-day applications are becoming resource-heavy, users often need to make the decision on whether to upgrade their devices or seek out a new one. This is expensive and wasteful. Real-time collaboration Our favorite desktop apps often lack real time collaboration, we are trying to bring these applications to the web so that we're able to bring more flexibility into app workflows. Accessibility A lot of apps are not accessible on multiple devices especially the developer apps. We solve this by bringing these apps to your web browser and make them truly accessible from any device or OS.

Tried this out a couple of days ago as a beta user and it's amazing. Been using it for all my coding stuff since then. No complaints, great product. Great job! 🙂

Interesting. So, for example, could my son run a virtual Windows install with Minecraft on it, even though we only have Macs in the house? Also, the FAQ link on your site = error 500.

Really glad to see neverinstall live on the PH community. Been an active beta user of the platform for the last three months and was completely blown away with the performance. The best thing about the platform is the user experience and speed. You'll be amazed at these two. I can guarantee that you'll immediately love the platform once you start using it! Congrats on the launch! Great product especially for individuals like me who have low pc configurations but high usage of chrome and other development tools. Waiting for software like Unity and Blender to come up on neverinstall. Cheers and keep going!

Hi there, I am so so amazed and in-love with your product. I've heard all the promises and advances with cloud streaming lately with all the Xbox Game Pass and Windows 365 news lately, but I didn't it would be this fun too!! Really the possibilities for these are endless, you need to maintain a good enough internet connection especially with the widening 5G rollout globally, that's no brainer, any device to carry with. And you're basically set. I genuinely would consider paying for this product if it would install me more custom PWAs, Electron or Windows apps, that I could just launch whenever I want to. Some thoughts : - Let us create more PWAs, that run headless and Chromeless in it's UI. Check out the Chrome menu > More tools... > Create shortcut... that might help you for its implementation. - I noticed that it's actually running on Linux behind the scenes. I'd suggest that you guys would modify the Linux image yourself, and try to modify it's default System Font, from that atrocious Open Sans, to something more legible and modern looking like Roboto. So it's more in-line with Windows or macOS experience you've known. - Let's get drag and drop support in this too. I've noticed that drag and dropping a file in Neverinstall while on Figma web app, running on Chrome, doesn't actually recognize my file upload to Neverinstall to Figma. It would be awesome if we can share files just like that from our main host machine to Neverinstall VM. - So far, Neverinstall is MVP friendly but showing all of its huge potential. I would love for the team to work on eliminating as much as trailing latency, as much as possible (just like Chrome Remote Desktop, that kind of smooth) that it will make using a design tool in the web like Figma, more sensible and ideal in this scenario. Even if the likes of Windows 365 finally comes, I would still pledge to check this product out and support small players like you. I hope you guys build your own niche in this ever growing and competitive, cloud computing, streaming space in the near future.

Maybe this is just me, but I can't seem to figure out how to get this working? Whenever I click create app it just brings me to a page with a photo of the app in question
