Hey PH! We've all taken a quick photo to remember something for later. It's a common habit, but our default camera and photo library aren't really designed for this kind of "utility photography". So, we thought, why not create a dedicated app that's perfect for this job? That's how NeuralBox was born. NeuralBox was designed to be an AI powered extension for your memory. It lets you capture and store as many of these utility photos as you want, without cluttering your photo library or taking up as much storage as normal photos would. Plus, with the latest in AI Semantic Image Search, OCR Keyword Search and Similarity Based Browsing, you can easily find anything you've stored. It's like having a "visual second brain", right in your pocket. If you're curious about the whole product story and AI tech behind NeuralBox, check out our launch blog post at https://neural.cam/news/neuralbox/ Give the app a try and let us know what you think!

There’s no mention of privacy or data collection, are my photos my own?
Levi Szabo
@richinapps Yes, absolutely. The photos you take with NeuralBox are your own. We prioritize your privacy and do not use your photos for any other purpose. We have a detailed privacy policy in the app/on our website.

Congratulations on the successful launch of NeuralBox! It's impressive to see the potential of AI Memory Extension. To make your product even better, consider these features: 1. Integration with popular cloud storage platforms for seamless backup and accessibility. 2. OCR functionality to extract text from images, enhancing search capabilities. 3. Cross-device synchronization for easy access from anywhere. 4. Annotation tools to add notes and context to saved images. 5. A web clipper extension for quick saving of online content. Looking forward to connecting on Product Hunt. Let's exchange ideas and support each other's products for greater success!
Levi Szabo
@realkunalmehta Thanks, Kunal. Most of the suggestions are already implemented: We do provide cloud storage. We have OCR on the images and do keyword search mixed with semantic image search (vector search). There is cross-device sync (though the app is only available on iOS for now, so only between multiple iOS devices). Thanks for mentioning points 4 and 5, we don't have those and will add them to our list of improvement ideas!

Congratulations on the launch! I see myself in this product, always snapping photos or taking screenshots for future reference, only to let them linger forgotten in my gallery. This tool seems like the perfect fix. Just wondering: does it also send reminders like "Hey, you captured this photo X days ago. Could it be something important you've overlooked?
Levi Szabo
@shitalgohil Thank you! We're thrilled to hear that NeuralBox resonates with you. We don't currently have the reminder feature you suggested, but it's certainly an interesting idea! Please give NeuralBox a try and let us know how it works for you, and if you have any specific scenarios where this reminder could be handy, we'd love to hear about them.

Good Job @levisz and the team! A really smart idea - the app looks like something I was always searching for ► Suggestion: you should have a retrospective of the month/year/what you were doing this month a year ago in 5-10 photos. It's always super cool and aligns with the value proposition - remembering everything (nice moments) Also when you're giving the retrospective, you can add a button to quickly add those photos into "favourites" ► Integration with NeuralCam: I saw you also developed NeuralCam. Do you plan to have any integrations in the future? ► Are there any other similar products on the market? Good job, guys!
Levi Szabo
@svbogdanov Thanks for the suggestions Sergei! We might do integrations with NeuralCam if it makes sense in the future. Let us know how it works for you.

@aden_will Thanks Aden!

I find that Google photos does this pretty well already, how are you differentiating your product and making it better?
Levi Szabo
@clara_eloy Great question, Clara! People are using their main gallery or Google Photos for storing all sorts of images, but we realized that your phone can be an even more powerful tool to 'remember stuff' if you had a dedicated app for it. With NeuralBox, you can capture anything you want and as much as you want without worrying about cluttering your main gallery or consuming storage space. NeuralBox was built with this purpose in mind and it encourages you to 'capture everything', leading to a habit of taking more photos of your stuff or anything you find interesting, which you probably wouldn't do with your main gallery - and many of these photos turn out to be quite useful later. Our roadmap includes numerous features that will further distinguish NeuralBox (an 'external memory' app) from Google Photos (a photo app meant to store precious moments). But, to put it simply, we're building an app for a different use case.

Great Idea ! It takes so long to find a picture nowadays. Do you plan to release a Android version ?
Levi Szabo
@mho22 Right now, we're focusing on refining the iOS experience, but Android is on our roadmap. Technically, it's definitely doable.

How did you hack my phone gallery and put pictures on your site? --- Hi Team! I like this idea. It's really very actual idea! You can't imagine how many such photo of vine bottles, utility meters and wheels 🛞 I have in my gallery. My upvote goes to you.
Levi Szabo
@anna_kasumova Thanks Anna! We promise we didn't hack your phone gallery :) it just seems like we've hit the nail on the head with our examples. It's funny and somewhat comforting to know that many of us share the same photo-taking habits. Give NeuralBox a try, and let us know how it works for you!
