Navi brings transcription and live translation to FaceTime through SharePlay. The app opens FaceTime up to people with hearing impairments and other disabilities that prevent them from engaging easily in a video call environment.
@rucha_joshi8 thanks Rucha! Right now the app works in the following languages: Arabic, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Croation, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, Vietnamese and Ukranian.
@rucha_joshi8@jordi_bruin Cool! Looking forward to trying it out. By the way, on getnavi.app, the download app button does not work. I inspected the code and thereβs no link < a > tag at all so itβs no wonder π
In April this year I built Unmute (https://www.producthunt.com/post...), which helps mute people speak on the phone. I wanted to also allow deaf people to communicate more easily by giving them transcriptions of their calls. Unfortunately it wasn't technically possible at the time..
But then Apple announced SharePlay at WWDC in June, and I was able to start working on Navi!
Navi adds live, encrypted, transcription to your FaceTime calls. And, you can also translate what the other person is saying into over 20 languages,
The in app purchase for unlimited calls is free until the end of the year, so please let me know what you think π
