Hi Product Hunters,
The idea to make a Medium Widget came to us when we decided to include our Medium feed on our company website, but could not find an existing solution for this. Instead of building a custom solution, we decided to share the results of our development with our community and make it flexible for use on any website.
We would kindly appreciate if you use our widget leave feedback on your experience.
This is really cool, I've been looking for something like this. Currently we just link out directly to our Medium page, going to add a "News" page to our site this morning and try this out!
Update: I'm live with it on our site! https://findawayvoices.com/news/ I did add a little screen-width check before determining the column count, and added a fallback text of 'Loading posts...' inside the div just in case it doesn't load. Other than that, super easy to work with, looks great right out of the box. Nice work team!
I went from seeing this to having a new 'News' page live on my site in about 30 minutes. Previously, we had been direct linking out from our nav to our Medium blog, nice to have people stay on our site a little longer to preview the recent articles before sending them out. I added a screen width check to load in the widget as 1, 2, or 3 columns depending on the browser's width. Here's what it looks like on our site: https://findawayvoices.com/news/
Pros:
Lots of options for what info to include, extremely fast to generate your embed code and get up and running, looks great out of the box.
Cons:
No native responsive support (but easy to shim that in). Images too low-res for single column.
Hey Will,
Thank you for your feedback. We just released a minor update which added ability to define an aspect ratio for picture "Original", "Landscape", "Square". So all your new visitors will see the landscape images by default. For other cache time will be 5 hours. You could check it to but clear cache at first, to make sure your widget.js file is up to date.
Until it becomes responsive and mobile-friendly, I will not be using Medium Widget. A material design option (or another design language) would be cool.
Pros:
It's clean, simple and easy to set up.
Cons:
It needs to be responsive. I'm having trouble getting it to work with my mobile-friendly site.
Hi there,
This medium plugin is down right now.
Will you guys please fix it asap please? (I am running this in my production)
It says "503 Service Temporarily Unavailable" on pixelpoint website.

Is there a reason the widget wouldn't pull a story in from the medium page? Something on mediums end perhaps? I'm trying to embed my medium feed in squarespace and it's not showing the latest medium publication
