Muse is a canvas for thinking that helps you get clarity on things that matter. It's a calm space for deep thinking. Work in private or collaborate with others. Available for iPad and Mac.
Hello Product Hunt Community!
Today, I'm thrilled to announce that Muse is now available on Setapp! Setapp is a fantastic subscription service that offers a curated collection of high-quality iPad and Mac apps for one monthly fee. Subscription fatigue hits all of us, and Setapp's single subscription gives access to their entire library - and now Muse too!
Log into Muse with your Setapp account and enjoy unlimited workspaces, cards, and up to 5 collaborators with Muse. I'm excited to welcome new users from the Setapp community and can't wait to see how you use Muse to boost your creativity and productivity.
As the solo developer on Muse since October, I've shipped over 30 updates for Muse, nearly 1 per week, largely driven on the feedback and energy of Muse users. I'm so excited to bring Muse to the Setapp community.

Congrats on the launch @adam_wulf π
I always have huge admiration for dedicated solo founders like yourself, Adam, so keep up the good work! π
You mentioned "up to 5 collaborators".
What if someone needs more collaborators? What options do they have?
Good luck with the launch!
@jgani Hi Jonni, and thanks! The Setapp plan allows for up to 5 collaborators - if you need more than 5, then you would need to move to the Unlimited Muse plan provided through the App Store version.
I should note - this is a 5 collaborators per workspace, and you can have unlimited workspaces. So if you have a few small teams or study groups all with different people, then that 5 limit /per workspace/ will likely still fit your needs.
Thanks!
Hey Adam! Congratulations on your launch! Thanks to you I got to know about Setapp!
Also, I want to appreciate you being a solo developer and still delivering updates so fast! All the best!
@zenda1122 Thank you for your kind words! π Muse offers unique features like nested boards, allowing whiteboards to contain other whiteboards infinitely, and the ability for boards to be contained by multiple other boards, providing flexibility beyond typical file/folder structures. Muse also uses local-first sync, which means you always have all your data, even when offline, with conflict-free syncing across devices.
I love Muse and how itβs being developed now. There arenβt many tools conducive to "right-brain" activities such as connecting dots, comprehending larger contexts, and generating ideas in a divergent fashion, but Muse is one of them.
Also, since Adam is working on the product solo, any bugs that might occur get fixed fast. Moreover, Adam is also very considerate when it comes to accepting community suggestions β user needs get met without bloating the app needlessly β which I appreciate a lot, since so much software these days fails at shaping the product skillfully and only gets slower and more difficult to use over time. Muse is a notable exception.
Keep up the good work!
@noeschmidt Figma is also a wonderful tool, though very focused on pixel precision and design. Muse is a calm place for deep thinking. It's fluid and simple, in a less-is-more-gets-out-of-the-way-so-you-can-think sort of way.
I upvoted because it sounds like an incredible tool for fostering deep, meaningful thinking in a calm and organized environment. Having a dedicated space for idea generation and collaboration is invaluable, especially in today's fast-paced world.
How seamless is the experience when switching between iPad and Mac? I often find that smooth cross-device functionality really makes or breaks the usability of such tools.
Also, have you used Muse for any collaborative projects? I'm curious to know how well it supports team brainstorming sessions. Thanks for sharing this innovative tool with us!
@max_panke Hi Max! Sync between iPad and Mac uses our custom local-first sync. A full copy of your data lives on each of your devices, and syncs conflict-free between them in near real time. You can write notes on your iPad and see them arrive instantly on your Mac. Getting the sync foundation right has been a huge effort, and it pays off with quick and consistent sync between your devices.
Collaborators use the same local-first sync. Over the years, we used Muse as a realtime shared collaborative whiteboard during meetings, and the realtime sync makes it feel natural.
Thanks!
When I saw the product name "Muse for Setapp," I thought it was a product deeply integrated with Setapp.
I admit, I was attracted by Setapp because I've been a fan for many years. You got me, my friend!
congratulations on the launch of muse for setapp, adam and team. it's impressive to see such dedication with weekly updates. considering the various features for deep thinking and collaboration, how do you ensure the user interface remains intuitive and not overwhelming for new users who might not be as tech-savvy?
