@thesangramkakad how do you get the friend you like to download and install the app without revealing that you want them to download it because you like them?

When you Like someone on MTJF, the Like is registered to your friend's mobile number. In case your friend has not yet signed-up on MTJF yet, we send a text SMS to your friend informing that 'some of their friends is interested in dating them and has liked them on MTJF'. We also provide the app download link in the SMS. If you want to give some hint to your friend, to help them guess who you could be, you can include an optional hint while sending the Like. Eg: We work in the same office/ go to the same gym etc. Anything you are comfortable telling them. With replies to hint, you can have an anonymous chat with your friend, where your name is not revealed to your friend, while you chat with them!
Sangram, congratulations on your launch! So excited for your built-in growth hack. Instead of making this a "dating app based on interests" you're putting the anonymous matching at the forefront and making it so people want to download the app to see who they've been matched with. I imagine you do this through a text or email notification when someone is matched. It's absolutely brilliant and something that I haven't seen a double-sided marketplace (dating apps, shared economy, etc) deal with in such a smart way in a long time. Wish you guys all the best!

Unlike other dating apps on market which help users to get dates with strangers, MTJF facilitates dating among friends, people you already know. The user signs-up on the app using his/her mobile number. When he/she Likes someone, that like is registered towards the mobile number of user's friend. So whenever the friend of user uses their mobile number to sign up on the app, all the Likes received towards that number can already be seen on the app. As the MTJF is entirely based on the Mobile number, we send the pre-sign-up notifications via SMS, as correctly guessed by you! :)
This is absolute genius! It's very interesting you are making the concept of asking out easy and are enabling people to be more confident about it. Like many other comments on this post, it's fascinating that you are thriving on a new concept, rather than matching unknown people based on interests. I wish MTJF goes a long way and takes on some of the big names in the industry. Kudos!

Let me get this straight, give the app your phone number, it spams your contact list, then your contact list spams their contact lists. Meanwhile the purpose of the app is creepy stalking. Yeah, no, I don't see any positives.
@matt_dba Hey Matt, addressing your concerns:
1. MTJF doesn't spam your contact list: When you Like someone, they can see your like when they themselves login in the app using their phone number.
2. MTJF doesn't allow any stalking: The way app works is you get a match with someone when a like is sent from your phone number to their and from their phone number to yours. Only after you match someone, you can see their profile. Until then you can just see it as the contact saved in your phone. This is one of the MTJF's USP. People are afraid that other people may come across their dating profile. On MTJF, only the people you match with can see your profile. So you are in control!

Everyone in our MTJF Team is 'insanely' inspired by Steve Jobs and hence we launched MTJF today on 24th Feb, the birth anniversary of Steve Jobs! The inspiration for the minimal design of our app (and logo too) came from Steve and his obsession for minimalism. Our constant focus is to perfect the app as much as possible and make Steve proud of us! (We are damn sure he is watching us from above ;)

@arunsathiya well, this name just stuck with us and was our instant favourite. We wanted the name to send out a clear message of what this app is set to achieve. And More than just friends gives it out loud and clear. And plus, MTJF wasn't a famous slang. So it also gave us a thrill of inventing our own term! 😀😁

@thomaswang We are delighted to know you liked MTJF! MTJF is now available for Download across the Globe. However, our marketing efforts are currently focused on the Metro cities of India, USA and Europe for people between the age group 18 to 30.
@thomaswang You are right, we do have the anonymous messaging like TBH. MTJF also helps the user to have an entire chat with their Friend in an anonymous mode! And yes, we love the TBH app! :)
