Professional real-time AI interviews, personalized feedback & resume matching to land the job you actually want.
Train with 200+ real questions based on the STAR method and practice in 7 languages. Built for designers by designers.
This is our second Mockin launch on Product Hunt, and here's what we've managed to build over the past 7 months:
1. We've improved our Screening Interview. Now you can practice based on your professional level: junior, middle, senior, or lead.
2. We added Assessment Interview, which evaluates your current level and suggests what roles you might be ready for.
3. We introduced the One Question Interview. This unique question bank contains 200+ questions that MAANG companies actually ask during screening interviews. We've organized these by categories: Experience, Motivation, Design Thinking, Collaboration, Design Thinking & Research, Feedback & Conflict Solving, and Leadership.
But that's not all
4. We added Resume Checker, which analyzes your resume and suggests improvements while making it ATS-friendly.
5. We built Resume Matcher, which personalizes your resume for specific job postings.
6. We completely redesigned the interview experience with our AI-HR - now it's even more calming and focused.
Oh, and I almost forgot. Over 1,300 designers have already prepared for interviews using Mockin.
That's it, no more words.
Try it out, get prepared, and land your dream job.
@egor_krasnoperov Iโm really impressed with the new features, especially the One Question Interview and Resume Checker. Mockin is definitely a game-changer for job seekers, helping to make interview prep so much easier and more effective.
@vikram_kushwaha1 Thank you! I wanted to partly solve my own pain as a hiring manager who interviewed many great designers, but who weren't prepared for interviews and missed the chance to join my team.
The improvements in Mockin sound fantastic! ๐ I'm particularly intrigued by the One Question Interview feature with its 200+ MAANG questions. How frequently do you update the question bank to ensure it stays relevant to current industry trends? ๐ค
@jaredl hi and thank you for the comment! We constantly keep our questions up to date. Our goal is to ensure not only that they reflect the latest industry requirements, but also that the interview process is seamless โ with questions asked in a logical sequence and taking previous answers into account
@jaredl thank you for your question! Right now, our question bank is focused on the first part of interviews โ the screening interview. And as Andrey mentioned, we're constantly expanding it. For example, we'll soon be adding questions related to using AI in design work.
We're also working on Whiteboard Interview training, since that's one of the most stressful parts of the interview process.
@reepush I like your perspective. But I'd look at this as a new stage of evolution. For example, according to a McKinsey report, the trend of AI integration into work processes will only increase. And we need to be ready for that.
My opinion is that denying AI as a tool is pointless. But completely relying on it isn't worth it either. Balance is important in everything.
Wow guys! This full interview prep tool for designers! A knew some of tools for engineering guys, so cool that you making this for designers as well. My friend straggling with finding a job as product designer, shared with hum ๐
@aleksanadr_lavrinenko thank you! We're also researching what if we could give designers an AI design buddy/mentor that would help designers grow and develop professionally! It's a fascinating topic.
@joey_zhu_seopage_ai hi Joey! We actually started from there. Originally Mockin offered interviews for all IT specialists, but we decided to focus on one segment to dig into the problem deliver an outstanding experience. Opening simulator for other roles is on our radar
@joey_zhu_seopage_ai nice question! We also have requests for Product Managers and Data Analysts. But for now, we're focused on designers to build the best product, and then we'll scale.
Congrats, team! Love the product. Got any plans on the HR front? I'm guessing you've got dozens of awesome product designers, and I might need one soon. Anything for hiring managers in the works?
@s5f5f5f thanks for the feedback! We've got some ideas and sort of a pitch deck for improving the hiring funnel. Connecting awesome designers with hiring managers and helping them to avoid wasting the time is on our radar
Uuuuu, this could help to be onboarded. I remember how @Teammates.ai launched Sara โ that revises interviews (and selects applicants). Pretty curious how it can handle applicants that are being prepared by AI models.
@busmark_w_nika, thank you! We're now actively talking with HR from different companies and understanding how our product can help B2B. For example, Mockin can help HR managers improve candidate quality by implementing pre-screening interviews and reducing time-to-hire.
@busmark_w_nika I wasn't talking about big companies ๐ We're talking with small companies/startups that have a high volume of candidate applications, primarily for Middle, Junior, and Senior positions.
As a mentor for designers, I use Mockin for my mentees and fellow mentors. Itโs an efficient, practical tool for interview preparation. Cuts wasted time. Focused on results. Really recommend. Wish only growth for guys
Great questions. How do you think homework might get built into this not just for design but also metrics analysis. How about flipping the role for interviewer practice ?
@howell4change hi Sean. Thanks for the comment. We actually started from multiple roles but decided to go with design to make the experience exceptional. Still, we see lots of requests for other roles and it is something we're thinking about.
If you mean design metrics, we already have some questions that cover this topic
@howell4change Sean, thank you for these interesting ideas! If I understand correctly, when you mention homework, are you referring to take-home assignments as part of the interview process? If so, we're currently working on a whiteboard interview flow where the main focus will be on reasoning and product thinking.
If you're talking about homework as practical tasks that could help designers develop, we're also exploring this possibility as an AI design mentor/buddy that would help create a PDP (professional development plan) and track progress.
As for the second idea, it sounds interesting! We're currently talking with HR managers from different companies and design mentors to help lighten their load. But it's definitely worth discussing this idea with design managers who do hiring.
Love how Mockin combines level-specific Screening Interviews, a 200-plus MAANG One-Question bank, and the ATS-friendly Resume Checker/Matcher inside that newly chilled-out AI-HR interfaceโreal, tangible upgrades over the usual one-size-fits-all prep tools.
As a designer gearing up for senior calls while endlessly tweaking resumes, this lineup nails my exact pain points and actually frees up time.
just curious: are you considering portfolio case-study reviews or direct application-tracking integrations so the prep flows seamlessly into the job hunt?
@jing_li24 Thank you for the feedback, Jing! My vision is to cover the entire interview preparation flow. And, after getting an offer, we also plan to help with adapting to the new company.
If we're talking about immediate plans, I'd like to focus on creating two types of interviews that can help designers:
interview based on job description;
whiteboard interview.
And if we're talking about your ideas, they sound more than reasonable, and we've started exploring them too.
Mockin's real - time AI interviews with 200+ real questions and resume matching are a huge help for designers preparing for job interviews! For designers who want to practice interviews for very specific design roles, does Mockin have any plans to add more specialized interview question sets for different design niches?
@yongxiang_wang thank you, Evan. Good question! And what other niche design roles would you like to see in Mockin? For example, if you're a UX designer, Mockin is also a great fit.
And if we're talking about communication designers, Mockin can help you prepare there too, structure your speech about your experience, your ability to work with a team, and how you define the quality of your work.
I'm highly interested in collaborating on your AI interview platform. My experience leading the development of "HireCatalyze," an AI-powered recruitment system with an interview module, directly aligns with your goals. I'm confident my expertise in GenAI and full-stack development can significantly enhance your platform's capabilities.
What I personally love about Mockin is how much more intentional and polished it has become over the past 7 months.
By understanding designers' journey, from crafting a resume to landing a job, we now help them cover almost everything they need to reach the place they aspire to.
Created by the IT community for the IT community โ powered by the insights of 4 seasoned hiring managers and sharpened with feedback from 100+ designers.

Love the idea of an AI-powered interview simulator tailored for UX/UI and product designers! Practicing with real questions and getting feedback is exactly what the community needs. Iโd definitely try it out to sharpen my interview skills. Congrats on the launch! ๐๐ง
@naderikladious, thank you! First and foremost, we wanted to provide a tool that helps improve self-presentation skills and learn to answer confidently using the STAR method. As a hiring manager who has been on both sides of the hiring process, I understand how important this is.
