Chris, thanks for hunting us! It’s a huge pleasure to have a chance to talk to experts and tech-enthusiasts from the Product Hunt community. Hey, Product Hunters! This idea stole our hearts and minds about four years ago and we’ve been building and improving it ever since. Today we’re thrilled to meet you guys and present RealtimeBoard 2.0. RealtimeBoard is a platform designed to make remote visual collaboration simple and straightforward for everyone. Small teams and companies worldwide use it for interface development, user flow mapping, storytelling, brainstorming as well as other unique and curious use cases. We spent many hours making the interface as intuitive as possible. Our boards are equipped with hand-crafted templates, colorful post-it notes, essential whiteboarding tools and a growing list of integrations. Every board is saved and synced in real-time, so you can have colleagues join a session from multiple locations for some live action, or contribute whenever they feel like it. Take a tour on the website, give it a try and let us know what you think! We’re here to answer any questions and talk about the product.

I hunted 1.0 a year ago and wow, what a difference a year makes. There was a lot of criticism back then about the UX and reliance on Flash... happily the team has moved away to standard web technologies are excited to launch 2.0 with a solid discount for Product Hunters!

Looks great! I like the focus on boards and cards. One nitpick from me that I've seen pretty much everywhere lately: the explainer video has zero footage of the actual product. Maye I'm not the target audience, but when I come across products like this I think "okay it's another team collaboration tool, let's see how they do it better than XYZ" and want to see it in action. Instead, the video (like most) just describes the problem in macro terms with cartoons and then implies that this product solves it - but doesn't tell me how exactly it's different than the other 5000 tools for this. I'd actually prefer to see the solution in action in high fidelity. A good example of an "in action" video that still retains a lot of creative and storytelling is one here by Squarespace: https://www.youtube.com/watch?ti...

@colemercer thanks for the great feedback, Cole! Really enjoyed the Squarespace video, totally get you about seeing the product in action. Here's one of our live action videos — not as fancy as the one you linked, but it does show the interface and features:
Our website got a complete makeover not long ago, so it might actually do a better job showcasing the product and explaining how we're different: https://realtimeboard.com/features/

@khusya @colemercer Thanks a lot :) I do think your website does a fantastic job of explaining it!

i still use RTB regularly from back in the flash days. After learning and depending on the hotkeys/shortcuts, I have continued to default back to wireframing and flowcharting with it cus I'm super fast and efficient. I don't know what it is about an unlimited white space but my mind doesn't seem to work vertically like a doc or even a spreadsheet forces it to. With RTB, I can "go off on a tantrum" where my mind wanders on a specific idea or direction and continue going. It's weird, but somehow it just makes sense to me. Regardless, I LOVE it and I'm a happy annual customer on several accounts while forcing the companies I work with to get on it or I quit. haha Props @khusya and team and I hope RTB continues on. It 100% deserves the top spot today.

@taylorhou wow, thanks so much Taylor! Your support means a whole lot to us :)

A few quick first impression notes. When I think of the word whiteboard, I think of something a little less powerful than what you are providing. I think ofa simple drawing application shared space between two people, but not something that goes quite as far as this application. This may be hindering customer acquisition or it could just be me. In addition, the lack of a mobile responsive homepage may hinder your efforts as well. I realize after trying to login that the application is not suitable for phone, but as someone checking out the application for the first time I certainly would like to be able to read the features and marketing material on the website in my phone more easily than it is available now. In addition, I would preferred to be notified while I'm looking at the homepage that it's not going to work with my phone, rather than finding out after going through the registration process. On the other hand you at least have my contact info now and I'm a registered user, so take that for what it's worth. It looks very powerful and I will take a more in-depth look after I get home.

@clickbrain thank you, Brad! RealtimeBoard is definitely much more that a whiteboarding tool, but we're really trying to keep it simple and avoid building an all-in-one Frankenstein. I think that so far we've been able to keep things rather intuitive and easy to grasp — well, at least that's what our users say :) Mobile responsive homepage is in the works, and native apps are on our roadmap for next year. RealtimeBoard already works in the browser on mobile tablets, if that's something you wanted to try.

@khusya @clickbrain "A Smartboard. Finally in your browser". Adding smart or something similar could let new users know you're taking a more intelligent path.

Awesome product! We used earlier versions a whille ago for live collaboration and despite a few glitches it worked just great. Really impressive collaboration for the whole team. Will need to give the updated version a spin with my new team.

Used it for an online workshop once. Been using it for all workshops / brainstorming sessions ever since.

I’m using RTB for remote collaboration with my product and marketing team. Realtimeboard helps us to collect, discuss and prototype new ideas. I was really excited when the team released the new UI and got rid of Flash. The tool is much faster now and looks awesome, not to mention it is working on ipad now:) Thank you, guys!
Andrey Khusid
@mashagrin thanks, Masha! There is a lot more in the pipe ;)
Anna Boyarkina
@mashagrin Thank you very much for your support, we appreciate it! There are other team workflow improvements already in the pipeline (new comments, mentions etc.). Stay tuned!

Realtime board is a great tool. I specially like to possibility to work together with our other office in Geneva when we are in Bern. We have the same space to generate ideas and vote for them with dotmocracy. Great work @khusya :)

Wow. Wow. Wow. Wonderful Product. Its Murally, Meet Prezi... with Templates... that extends the use to Trello, Lean Canvas... @khusya AWESOME product. You should position this as a hub for all the other work you do that slack is not great for. Kudus on a great product.

Hey @bitario, @bradmillscan, @erikfinman we’re back on PH with RealtimeBoard 2.0. You joined the discussion last time we were hunted. Would love to hear what you think about the update!

I advise anyone who prioritise visual representation of anything give it a try.

There are multiple templates to chose from as a starting point and also you can always create your own.

The biggest benefit is that you have unlimited space to add all elements of your visualisation.

Pros:

Very good visual presentation of a project. Multiple team members can access and work on a board together.

Cons:

I've been using it for 1 project for a couple of months now and can't find anything major. Maybe lack of search for changes made by others.

Furkan Orhan

At the end, you are forced to upgrade, I have lost my all boards. I will never use this product again.

Pros:

Limitless whiteboard.

Cons:

It forces you to upgrade and if not you can not use your account.

FerminRP

Definitelly the best product I've used in the last couple of months. I'd love to add it to my daily routine as I did with trello and slack. Too bad that to really use it you need to pay $10 a month :(

Pros:

Best tool for visual people, everything I need for studying and work

Cons:

A bit expensive for me.

Miro is the best product for team collaboration on every activity. You don't need to be a designer for understanding how it works, it s easy, flexible and essential.
