Interesting product. Do you think that some industries (that deal with more theoretical knowledge, like network systems) would be more likely to use this vs. creative industries?
@zerotousers Thanks! :) I do believe that everyone can benefit from the platform. But there are use cases, especially in creative domains, where text or theory wouldn't be suffice. For now, the focus is definitely on theoretically rich disciplines like sci & tech, math, history, business & finance. But I'm considering creative cases as well. It's possible to make some exceptions.
This is cool as fuck! I know exactly what you're trying to accomplish with this and I wish you the best. One thing I recommend to overcome the catch 22 of needing content to bring in users and needing users to bring in content is to scrape content from open-source textbook pdfs. You could run a script that takes a textbook pdf, converts it to HTML, then split that into bite-size chunks and convert it into the formatting of your content. Just like that, hundreds of posts. You can also do the same with educational youtube videos, MIT open courseware, etc. Awesome job!
@yaniv_silberman1 Thank you! :) I've started reaching out to a few educators and creators. More crash courses are on the way. And that's a good suggestion on breaking the seeding block. It's indeed a nice way to translate those opensource content as crash courses.
I'm excited to showcase Mindspace here with you all. It's a simple, easy-to-use crash course platform for self-learners who'd rather love to read more than to watch. No sign-up requirements, assignments, quizzes, or advertisements. Just you and the knowledge.
And all contributions are licensed under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 to help the authors preserve their communal interest and authorship.
I'd love to hear your feedback.
I've just launched it with a few educators on-board. More to come! Join Mindspace and help build a community of casual learners and creators! :)
Great idea! I appreciate those who try to bring knowledge and know-how to everyone for free. Funny how many of such free resources are way better and more beneficial than the lessons and courses sold for a fee. The world needs more freely accessed quality knowledge. Good luck, I hope this platform doesn't stop growing!
