Companies like OpenAI built "centralized AI" that erodes human independence, but we need individuality: tools that amplify, not erase yourself. That's why we're building a new ecosystem to challenge centralized AI models, and we're sharing its open-source prototype, "Second Me" with you: a platform where you can build your independent AI self that can interact autonomously with other human-made AIs. You can train and self-host your own AI while ensuring privacy protection. This AI will reflect your thoughts and preferences, enhace your personal efficiency and expand your ability to provide services externally.✨ Join us in building this future. Whether you're a tech enthusiast, AI professional, or domain expert, Second Me provides the platform to extend your mind into the digital realm.

There's some really interesting ideas built into this launch... From Large Language Models to Personal Language Models.

Key functions:

  • Hierarchical Memory Modeling (HMM): A three-layer memory structure helping AI agents adapt and evolve with users.

  • Me alignment: A personalized alignment architecture using reinforcement learning to transform user data into deep understanding.

  • Second Me Protocol (SMP): A decentralized framework for independent AI entities to interact, learn, and evolve while ensuring user privacy.

  • Roleplay Framework: Allows AI agents to adapt to situations while maintaining the user’s core identity.

  • Decentralized Network: Creates a network of AI agents representing real individuals, with users in control of their data.

This is such an inspiring vision! 🔥

The idea of reclaiming AI as a tool for amplifying individuality rather than replacing it really resonates. “Second Me” feels like a bold, much-needed counter to the centralized AI tide—giving people agency over their own digital minds, not just access to a black-box model.

The self-hosting, privacy-first approach is a huge plus, and I love the idea of AIs interacting on behalf of us, instead of replacing us. Looking forward to experimenting with the prototype and being part of this decentralized AI future. 🚀💡

@williamrobertscott Thank you so much for your thoughtful words, William! We're thrilled that the vision behind Second Me resonates with you. ❤️

This sounds very intriguing! Does it only work on macOS? No plans for Windows

Pranay Bansal

Congratulations on the @Me.bot launch guys!

I have been increasingly concerned about the way AI is developed and deployed. Many of these centralized AI platforms feel like they're designed to homogenize us, make us all fit into the same mold. What you have done is really refreshing. I am definitely using this!

Update: I just visited your website, but its a github repo, and I am not a developer :(
Can you perhaps recommend a super easy way for me to get started?

@pranay12 Thanks for your support, Pranay! We couldn't agree more - AI should amplify individuality, not flatten it. That's exactly why we built Second Me!

Right now we're only providing the GitHub repo because it's the most localized way to deploy and train the model yourself. But we're working on a more user-friendly solution that'll make it easier for everyone to get started! Stay tuned! 🙌

Pranay Bansal

@scarletttmoon Awesome! Looking forward to the user-friendly solution! Also, nice choice for pfp

Finally, the Open-source version is here!

We all need an AI that's 100% made, by me, of me, for me!!!

Gosha Shatirov

The features sounds so yummy, can't wait to test it. And it's open source and decentralized? You guys are awesome.

@goshatirov Thanks Gosha! Yeah you got it 🍻 Can't wait for you to try it out and hear your thoughts!

Launching soon!

🎉 Huge congrats to Me.bot on launching Second.Me! As an AI product lead, I'm blown by your vision of "decentralized AI network" — challenging centralized models with open-source, privacy-first self-hosted AI avatars? This is how digital sovereignty begins! ✨

The Hierarchical Memory Modeling and SMP protocol are genius — evolving with users while enabling secure decentralized interactions. Also love how the Roleplay Framework anchors core identity during AI adaptation!

Quick idea: Could you add no-code training templates? Like a "personality blueprint builder" where users define traits via interactive scenarios instead of raw data inputs. This could democratize AI creation! 🧠 And maybe AI-to-AI collaboration use cases? Imagine my AI negotiating project deadlines with a client's AI autonomously!

When will we see SDK for developers to build plugins? Would love to contribute! 👾 Keep pushing the boundaries!

@rocsheh Wow thank your for your incredible feedback and support, Zepeng! We’re so glad the vision of Second Me resonates with you.
Love the idea you proposed. Our training process is actually already no-code, but we’re definitely working on making the data input process even friendlier and more scenario-focused for users.

For AI-to-AI collaboration use cases, you can check out for some examples here: https://app.secondme.io/example/Icebreaker and https://app.secondme.io/example/brainstorming

As for the SDK for developers, that’s a fantastic idea! We’ll be sharing our roadmap on GitHub soon, so stay tuned for that. We’d love to have your contributions when it’s ready! 🚀

Noosh Baratpour

Wow, I really like the idea! Let's see how we can use it! I haven't touched git or any dev-related tool in years! 👀 Good luck with your launch! 🚀

@nooshb Thanks Noosh! Let us know if there's any issue you've encountered along the way 👀

Noosh Baratpour

@scarletttmoon Yeah I installed everything but it didn't work in the end:(

Shane Shen

Congrats to the Mebot team! I love the new idea so far, truly believe there’s even more to explore.

@shane_shen Thank you Shane! Excited to see you like it. Hope to hear more of your thoughts 🤓

Desmond

Finally, an AI that doesn’t treat my data like a commodity. The ability to train locally and verify zero data leakage gave me the confidence to ditch cloud-based tools.

@desmond_ren1 100 percent! 🥳

AuroraW

I’ve been following the Me.bot team for a while, and this new direction with Second Me is genuinely exciting. The idea of building a personal AI that truly understands and reflects you—your thoughts, habits, and knowledge—is something I’ve always looked forward to. A self-hosted, privacy-conscious AI that can help manage tasks, organize knowledge, and grow with you—that’s a vision worth supporting. Can’t wait to see how this evolves. Big congrats on the launch—keep pushing the boundaries team :)

Hey! I just wanted to say how totally in love I am with the cute 2D design of Second.Me! It looks super fun, and I can't wait to try it out. The idea of training our own AI that reflects our thoughts and preferences sounds incredible—like having a twin! Isn’t that just the most exciting thing? I'm really eager to see how it feels to make an AI version of myself. I love that it focuses on privacy too. This could be a game-changer! Keep up the amazing work!

Hima Tri Sulistyani

Congratulations on the launch of Second.Me by Me.bot! This initiative addresses the critical need for privacy and personalization in AI development.

What mechanisms does Second.Me use to ensure that the AI accurately reflects user preferences while maintaining strong privacy protections during training and self-hosting?

Alex Koo
this seems cool. and weird. lol. can you clarify the goal/use/purpose of our AIs?
Ajay Sahoo

Firstly, it's innovation is best and without compromising privacy it maintains the user's identity in different interactions.

Secondly, the ability to learn like a human progressively and contextually along with potential for collaboration, learning, and growth in this ecosystem is limitless.

Jennie Weng
congrats!amazing ideas and cannot wait to using that!
