Do the mentors charge the mentees anything?

@michal_k2 Nothing at the moment. The entire service is free, as this is more of a hobby hassle.

Hey ProductHunt, I am the maker of BeenThereDoneThat. The idea for it originates back to the times when I wanted to bring design thinking in IT consultancy. where I worked. I had only an engineering background, so I struggled a lot to make a tiny bit of progress. Looking back, it would have been much easier if I could be matched with an experienced designer or anyone who did change-making, offering me advice at the right time. I thought many other solo fighters in the companies and own startups need the same. The Problem --- It is just damn hard to find a good mentor. A person with whom you could meet semi-regularly to work on a particular issue extensively. Linkedin Career Advice platform didn't introduce me to the right people. Also asking your network when you don't know who really is up for mentoring is very ineffective and painful process. On the other hand potential mentors often don't like to be called 'mentors'. Mentors don't want to take on new commitments from the get go until they see they can connect with the person and they could see the output from their advice. The Solution --- Problem-based advice requests. Instead of cold-emailing mentors people seeking help would describe the concrete acute problem they need help with: short headline, what is is, why it occurs, and what they already tried. Then interested mentors could glad over these advice requests and with one click get connected with the interesting persons. It could be quick advice, encouragement, or something leading to a true mentoring relationship. Who It Is For --- For anyone who works through a challenging professional problem and would benefit from support of more experienced. Especially, intrapreneurs in companies, entrepreneurs, those who want to shift careers would be most suitable on the platform. Try it out (it's free) and let me know what you think. Cheers, Max
