Hello Product Hunt,
We’re excited to launch a huge update to Medly, our music-making app, now for iPhone, iPad, and iPad Pro. It's been nearly a year since we launched Medly for iPad, and ever since then, we've been tinkering with designs to make Medly fit on the smaller screen of the iPhone.
In the end, we created a very different interface that is consistent across all devices. Adding a new editing view, called the Board, that breaks your song into manageable chunks that can be looped, picked up, moved, copied or deleted - all on a timeline. Above that, we went a step further and added new tools to help make Medly songs sound even better.
As to who we are. We're just two guys based in Waterloo, Ontario with the mission to make everyone a musician, no matter their skill level.
You can download Medly for free in the App Store, and we're looking forward to hear what you think!
@colindevs automation is applied to all effects: volume, echo, hi/lo, and pitch, so you can create fade-in/out. You adjust the automation on a per section basis (so when you move a section, you move its automation).
If you're on an older device (iPhone 4S, iPod Touch (5th gen), iPad 2, iPad 3, or iPad Mini), automation isn't supported - it was just too glitchy on those devices.
