✅ Make mastodon easy for newcomers
We set out with this one main goal in mind. Hand the phone to someone who has never used Mastodon or even Twitter/X and see if they can create a feed of posts they get value out of in less than 5 minutes!
Mostly this means saying no to a lot of power user focused features and trying to keep Mammoth laser focused on helping people find content to follow.
Instead of a classic tag cloud onboarding we start with community curated lists following a variety of topics (more to come!). The goal of the lists is to give you a vibrant collection of accounts following your interests you can browse instantly in their entirety; or you can just let the best posts show up automatically in your For You feed.
We are just getting started but wanted to start working out in the open rather than in secret.

For the user experience we really focused on these 4 aspects:
1. Easiest possible onboarding to Mastodon: With just a few clicks you can onboard to Mastodon and decentralized social. It’s fast, simple, without all the complexities like choosing a server.
2. Instant suggestions on people and accounts to follow: Once you’re in, you’ll immediately see personalized suggestions on accounts to follow so you can start building your network right away.
3. Curated ‘Smart Lists’: Easily discover interesting people and conversations, organized by topic and handpicked by the community
4. A For You Feed that’s transparent and controlled by you: You’re in control of the content you see with toggles for things like topics, accounts, and interests
This is a nice app that looks to address several pain points for potential Mastodon users. This will help make the journey significantly easier to join the Fediverse. It helps remove many of the excuses people can offer as to why they remain on X, we are getting to the point where user's will have to be honest about why they really remain.

Mammoth is Mastodon made easy — modern, fun, fast. With our 'For You' feed and Smart Lists like /makers, /games, /pixelart, /queertech, you're in charge of your social universe, without the complexity.
Mammoth is the easiest way to get off Twitter/x and onto the fediverse and Mastodon, a network of interconnected, decentralized social networks. Unlike traditional social media, the fediverse gives you control over your online experience, free from the grip of big tech.

2024 is going to be the year even more people log off Twitter for good in search of smaller, healthier spaces where they can have authentic online conversations —Threads, BlueSky and especially Mastodon. We believe the future of social —and what comes next— is all about real people and is being built today on ActivityPub and Mastodon. Social needs to be an open protocol that anybody can build on, just like email or the open web. We believe this will happen in 2024 and all of our work is to bring about this open future faster.

If you're on Twitter still, what will it take for you to move?
I love the idea of a decentralized social media experience where I'm in control. My issue is the usability and barrier to entry I see in most Mastodon clients. This looks promising. I'll check it out for sure.
I will try Mastodon soon enough. When I'll do, I will be using Mammoth because I have no time or patience to try to find everything myself. Congrats on this upgrade! Pretty decent UI too!
Will this social platform be subjected to free speech limitations and other anti-constitutional practices as seen on platforms that are owned by zionist tech entrepreneurs to ban support for human rights and/or any attempt at sharing documented evidences of war crime?
I don't know a single person in my network at least who uses Mastodon, but all the besttt ❤️

You have so much more control.
- Mammoth 2 makes it very easy for new members to find interesting content and onboard into this new social network.
- You have a quickly growing ecosystem of tools and documentation to help you craft your own experience if you're more technical.
- If you don't like Mammoth, no problem, just leave and take your content and followers with you. 🤯
But at the end, for me, it's about great content. We integrated a bunch of Smart Lists, curated by members of our community to help you find users and content that matters. I hope you like it! We'll keep improving this with feedback from the community. Create great content, be authentic, and people will follow.
@itsawaisyounas @damon_outlaw We're running on Mastodon. So you can install another Mastodon client and still have all your followers, followings, posts, blocks, mutes, etc.
