🚀 Hey Product Hunt! Leland here - co‑founder of Maestro.

You might already know Maestro, the open‑source test‑automation framework that helps teams like Meta, DoorDash, Kraken, Stripe, IKEA, Deel, and Uber speed up automated testing.

Some devs tell us they went from 4 hours writing an Appium or Selenium script to 5 minutes with Maestro. 💥

We’re on a mission to make reliable end-to-end testing dead simple, for both developers and teammates who never touch the terminal.

That’s why we built Maestro Studio Desktop! 🧑‍💻

All‑in‑one desktop app for automating end‑to‑end tests on mobile & web apps

  • Mobile & Web Support – a single test framework for Mobile & Web.

  • Human-Readable Language – create test scripts using human-readable syntax.

  • Visual Element Inspector – point, click, auto‑generate test commands.

  • One‑click Run & Debug – launch tests with zero CLI.

  • Maestro GPT – Chat bot to help write and maintain your tests using AI.

  • No IDE setup – forget VS Code extensions, Android Studio, or Xcode boot‑ups.

  • Instant Device Connect – plug in Android, iOS, or Web devices, no config.

  • Smart Command Creation – build full test flows in minutes, not hours.

  • Cloud scaling in one click – run parallel tests straight from the app.

  • Cross‑platform – native installers for macOS (Apple Silicon & Intel), Windows, and Linux.

What teams get with Maestro Studio Desktop

  • Slash testing time by up to 95 %.

  • Enable non‑technical teammates to create and run tests with confidence.

  • Catch bugs before users do – no more surprise regressions on release day.

Kick the tires - tell us what’s great, confusing, or missing.

If Maestro Studio Desktop saves you time, we’d love a review! 🙌

I’ll be here all launch day answering questions.

Let’s make UI testing ridiculously simple, together!

P.S. Maestro CLI isn’t going anywhere. The Desktop app runs on the same open‑source core, so you can switch between them whenever you like.

4 hours to 5 minutes? That's incredible ROI. Definitely trying this for our mobile app testing workflow. @Maestro Studio Desktop Beta

Manu Armani

@nicoleastor thank you so much! Please share your feedback when you try it out. I'd love to know!

Leland Takamine

@nicoleastor Yes - and please let us know how it goes! Really appreciate your support!

Joey Zhu

No more messing with the CLI just to run tests? That’s genius, tbh. This is gonna save me (and my non-dev buddies) *so* much headache. Awesome work!

Manu Armani

@joey_zhu_seopage_ai that's the goal! Share your feedback with us when you try it out.

Leland Takamine

Yep - that's the idea! Looking forward to hearing how it goes and really appreciate the support @joey_zhu_seopage_ai !

Nader Ikladious

I’ve used Maestro before and loved how simple it made mobile automation — having a full desktop app now sounds super handy, especially for non-dev teammates. Looking forward to giving it a try soon. Congrats on the launch 🚀

Leland Takamine

Thanks for the support @naderikladious - looking forward to hearing how you and your teammates like Maestro Studio Desktop!

Nader Ikladious

@leland_takamine Sure thing 😊

Anthony Latona

Every app developer should have this installed. It looks easy to set up and will save TONS of testing time, money and headaches.

Congrats on the launch!

Anthony Latona

@leland_takamine It's rare that I see a demo and look for a reason to use a product :) I'm not a native mobile dev, but I would 100% use something like this for testing. QA is too often overlooked or pushed aside, and in my experience that is detrimental during big projects. Anything that can save manual testing time is totally worth it.

Leland Takamine

QA is too often overlooked or pushed aside, and in my experience that is detrimental during big projects

@anthony_latona  💯 The irony is that the biggest pain point for every team we talk to is testing. It's something that is overlooked often while also being one of the most fundamental requirements for a business. Excited for you to try it out!

Piyush Naik

Just tried Maestro Studio Desktop and it feels like someone finally built a real testing command center — without all the dev tool chaos.

This isn’t just a test automation tool. It’s like having a QA genius in a box.

No CLI madness. No IDE setup. No flipping between platforms. Just open the app, plug in a device, and go.

  • Write tests in plain English

  • Point, click, generate test steps like magic

  • Debug with one click — even I can do it without touching a terminal

  • Maestro GPT? Insane. Feels like pair programming for QA.

And it’s not just for devs — even product folks can build and run tests.

From web to mobile, Android to iOS — it’s cross-platform, cloud-ready, and honestly… kind of a game-changer.

This is how testing should feel in 2025: visual, intelligent, and FAST.

Leland Takamine

@piyushnaik So great to hear this Piyush - really appreciate the feedback and support. Much more to come! 🚀

Madalina B

looks great, congratulations!

Congrats on the launch folks!

Maestro is the only reason we have full e2e test coverage for our React Native app. The alternatives were just too much of a pain to setup, and after I discovered Maestro, we had coverage for all our critical flows in less than a day. I'm psyched to try out this update. Nice work!

Leland Takamine

Thanks for the support @stevie_clifton  🎉

Matheus Nogari

Wow, I love it! Does it support the web, too? I'm going to use it for all my projects ⚡

Leland Takamine

@matheus_nogari Yes! Maestro supports Web, iOS, and Android!

Aj
Launching soon!

Testing still remains difficult part of my dev workflow. Looking forward to trying this.

Leland Takamine

@aj_123 Such a common story - even more so in this vibe-coding era where development is fast, and quality is hard to come by! Looking forward to hearing how it goes!

Lakshya Singh

I have never worked on a mobile app but now I see how easy Maestro would make it to do so. Congrats on the launch @manu_armani @proksh @amanjeet_singh2 @kimberly_osborne @leland_takamine

Leland Takamine

Thanks Lakshya - Maestro also support testing web apps! 🙌

Lakshya Singh

@leland_takamine That sounds so awesome! I will definitely share it with my techie friends. It would really mean a lot to me if you can show some support to our launch today. TIA.

Bojun Chai

Maestro is so powerful! We achieved 10x efficiency with only 1/10 of the original code compard to previous UI automation framework during the migration to Maestro. Its simple and clear syntax made it easy for our team to quickly move a large number of bottomline and golden test cases. It also helped us catch regressions earlier and more often. Maestro has greatly improved our mobile testing process—faster, cleaner, and much easier to maintain.

Meanwhile, collaborating with Maestro is really great!! I do believe Maestro will be widely promoted in Microsoft and the entire industry!

Congrats on the launch!!

Mengying Sun

no CLI, no IDE setup, Create & Run? Surprising! Congrats! @Maestro Studio Desktop Beta

vivek sharma

This is such a breath of fresh air, testing tools often assume deep setup knowledge or command-line comfort. Making it plug-and-play for both devs and non-tech teammates is a game-changer. Excited to see how it handles scale and edge case scenarios without the IDE barrier.

Ruslan Kuprieiev

Great stuff! Congratulations on the launch @leland_takamine and the team!

Leland Takamine

Thank for the support @rkuprieiev ! 🙏

Ishan

Already a fan of Maestro, although I am more of a CLI guy :D This is probably one of the only apps I'd be willing to go GUI on 😂

Jessika Hutchinson

This update is HUGE. We've been enjoying the CLI for a while now, but spinning up the local web page to interact with the devices used to have some issues for us. Like we used to need to start it up, tear it down, and then we could run our tests because it would occupy control of the device. Now though? I got my IDE with the same functionality baked in. The autocomplete you got is absolutely outstanding, and inspecting/picking elements from the device visually and getting good feedback via text and visuals is amazing! I know it's not got all the planned features yet, but I can't wait to fully adopt this when it does. For now though, we're enjoying using the new IDE to speed up writing tests. The jumping between the CLI, docs, IDE, and mobile inspector eats so much time, and gluing most of that together gives a phenomenal experience to work with! Keep going we're hyped :D

Leland Takamine

@jessika_hutchinson Amazing to hear Jessika! Thank you for the support! We're just getting started with Maestro Studio - so expect more great things coming your way!

Jake Krupski

@jessika_hutchinson thanks for taking the time to check it out and share your experience, it means the world!! can't stop, won't stop :)
