Seriously: this is the best tool of the trade. Forget your run-of-the-mill disk/mac/whatever keepers/cleaners and use this. The only app I trust to handle my software.
Julia Petryk
@t55 Ton, thank you! MacPaw team works hard to make our users and their Macs happy.

@t55 @ua_philka Ok, I downloaded the trial and all I can say is that this version is incredibly slick. I found files and gunk that I totally forgot about. I love it you guys. The animations totally add to the experience. Any super special PH discounts for broke founders? :) I want to write up a review as well.
Dan
@t55 I have v2 and love it... sometimes I get 90 gigs outta there.
Julia Petryk
@t55 @irvingtorresyc give me your email :)
Greg Gilbert
Agreed, I love Clean My Mac. Great application, state of the art UI. Highly recommended. @ua_philka can you please tell us more about this new release?
Julia Petryk
@gregoiregilbert So what's new in CMM3: - Completely redesigned interface (Yosemite’s makeover). - Active Dashboard (provides a clear glance over Mac’s main stats). - Memory (RAM) cleanup feature that helps maximize free RAM space on demand. - iTunes Junk module (cleans up gigabytes of outdated iTunes data). - Mail Attachments module (removes local copies of email attachments). - Privacy module (cleans up traces of a user’s online and offline activities). - Maintenance module with a huge set of scripts and tasks that help keeping a Mac fit. - CleanMyMac 3 Menu that provides a quick look at the system and RAM cleanup at any time. - Health feature, that provides an early warning system for most hardware issues. - OS X Localizations cleanup as part of the System Junk module. - Hundreds of improvements in all those modules that were inherited from CleanMyMac 2. - Apple’s Photos app support as part of the iPhoto Junk module.
Irving Torres
@gregoiregilbert @ua_philka phenomenal. Good work you guys. Every single bit of space on my mac is precious and it looks like you added a ton of helpful features. Excited to try it out now.

This is such a nice application to use. It's clean, the UI is gorgeous.
Julia Petryk
@jbrooksuk I'll pass your comment directly to MacPaw designers. They'll be pleased to hear that =)
Dave Pinke
Love Cleanmymac 2, as a user of that product do I get a free upgrade?
Julia Petryk
@davepinke if you purchased CMM2 during the last 30 days, then yes. All other CMM2 users can upgrade with 50% discount.
Dave Pinke
@ua_philka How do we do that?
Julia Petryk
@davepinke the easiest way is to launch CleanMyMac 2 and get upgraded to CleanMyMac 3 with 50% off discount.
Dave Pinke
@ua_philka Okay thanks, I'll try that when I get home.
Milan vd Bovenkamp ♠
@davepinke @ua_philka I already paid 20 euro for the CMM 2, why not a free update for loyal users? I recommend it to a lot of people.
Di.Serkin
Be careful. I will never install such tools. They can potentially damage your system.

Hunter
@diserkin Always good to be careful, but CleanMyMac shows you what it's going to do. You can select or deselect any file you'd like to keep or delete. You only 'might' damage your system if you mindlessly click all the buttons and don't read the suggestions and instructions that CleanMyMac gives you.
Sofia Dvoynos
@diserkin @t55 And the thing that makes CleanMyMac unique, is its Safety Database. It is a list of operational rules and exceptions that CleanMyMac 3 uses to prevent even the smallest of cleaning mishaps. The Safety Database has been updated regularly for the past 5 years. You can read more in the blog post: http://blog.macpaw.com/post/7288...
Paul Watson
@diserkin @t55 @sofiux safety database is reactive though, someone has to have a problem, identify it, then the database is updated?
Vera Tkachenko
@paulmwatson @diserkin yes. we have a special team for maintaining this database.

@nicksloggett in the battle of links about CMM3, positive feedback will certainly win. Check the latest reviews http://brettterpstra.com/2015/04... http://www.macstories.net/mac/cl... Not everyone is excited about BMW, but the brand has lots of happy customers all over the world. Thus, 4 mln users of CleanMyMac and the product hunters here can't be unanimously mistaken about the app. Do you agree?
Nick Sloggett
@ua_philka eh... these articles both seem coached to a point. Not really a "battle of links either" CMM has a history of rendering computers locked or un-bootable as its rolling through "cleaning". I really think this says it best: "the app does a great job of protecting critical system files and of explaining each removal and action before it’s executed, but mistakes could still be made if the user is not careful, and this definitely isn’t one of those apps where you can get away with ignoring the details and fine print."
Nick Sloggett
@ua_philka Would also love to see if its 4mil active users or 4mil downloads. None the less my opinion around it. It's wonderfully designed.
Corey Stone
I just got it this morning and cleaned 12 GB (I'd used HD Cleaner not too long ago). It worked great, and great UI! :)
Ace Bhattacharjya
I'm a huge fan of this app-- and I was worried because I recently purchased the software. Was all set to have to write a pleading letter, but it automatically suggested an upgrade because I had recently purchased. Well done, MacPaw.
Ouriel Ohayon
big fan of CleanMyMac
Haseeb Awan
I use on regular basis. Helps me keep my Mac clean. Have not upgraded to the new version yet.
Stefan KP
Been using this for years. Great, great app.
Patrick Rogers
Bought this today after the first demo use. Impressed with the UI. Just some feedback, I would like to have brief explanations on common removals. What is my iTunes cache? Local files? These things would make that one button clean feel safer.

Hunter
@mrpatrickrogers There's a help button in the right bottom corner of every screen. CleanMyMac 3 Help tells you all you need to know. It's very detailed.
Lewis Bertolucci
Love CleanMyMac (from my usage, purchased 2 licenses) - one piece I'd like to add as feedback is that CMM recommended I try Gemini Duplicate File Finder and offered 50% off, so I clicked through and purchased it (states on AppStore 50% off), but it charged me full price. Reached out to your customer service and they stated it's only valid when purchased from your site (no resolution at this time)... very misleading and I paid full price.
Brian Sheng
It got rid of the abnormally large number of "others" file taking up storage space. Game changer.
Jesper Klingenberg
I don't think my computer would survive without CMM. I treat it really crappy and CMM always cleans up after me. And I am the type of person that never read the fine print and it always works smoothly.. Keep up the good job guys!!
Sofia Dvoynos
Thanks for all your comments!
Annand Virk
My only issue is the language files it deletes during a System Junk cleanup. Anyone have issues with this? Let's say that I want to start learning a new language and decide to write in it... will this be a problem?
Julia Petryk
@annandvirk To restore language files you can reinstall the whole system and/or apps if the language files were deleted from the apps. However, in El Capitan OS X CleanMyMac 3 won't clean OS Localizations in the system or in the system apps, they'll be cleaned only in users' apps.
Adam C. Engst
We published @joekissell's full review of CleanMyMac 3 over at TidBITS. His bottom line: "The presence of a few “meh” features notwithstanding, I’ve found CleanMyMac3 to be both effective and safe. It’s easy enough for a beginner to use, the explanations of each feature are useful, the Help is helpful, and I even happen to like the little animations and sounds that accompany most actions in the app (though you can turn them off if they bother you)." http://tidbits.com/article/15891
Łukasz Wieczorek
works great. just word of warning if you do free version it only lets you do 500mb even when you spend all the time selecting all the files you want to remove, should warn you before hand (unless I missed it?). Would say its worth the purchase even though I only did free version. Went with MacClean since it was free :x
James Beveridge
Just installed and ran, now Outlook is throwing errors regarding removed files. I have regret...
