MacOS Server — Just like that, your Mac is a powerful server

I'm trying to understand this product and who it's for. "Add macOS Server to your Mac from the Mac App Store for just $19.99."

What did I miss? Thought macOS server allways was avalible? I wonder though, is this a preparation for home automation? That would be cool. Anyway cool to be able to manage kids phones and do remote wipe id they're lost :-)

I'm going to eventually run MacOS Server at home for the cached updates, media serving and Time Machine backups.

This is not new at all. Why was this allowed to be shared? How does this help the community and everyone else?
