Hey Product Hunt Community!
đ I'm really excited to be the hunter of Lyssna's Live Website Testing today!
Once again, I am back to this community to introduce one new feature but this time from a new startup, Lyssna. I am not only hunting this new feature as a hunter but also as a team member. I am so proud of all the effort of the team making this happen and something that users were asking to have. Live Website Testing is an amazing feature that adds up to the rest of the portfolio of features/tools from Lyssna to make a perfect All-in-one User Research platform.
Me, as a marketer, I believe marketers don't test enough and we should be doing more because the insights we get from this, it is worth it. I tested many times on my own projects and I saw the value. Live Website Testing is coming here to add new ways of getting insights. I am particularly excited to test it on the signup process and also on competitors' websites. Good idea, eh!
What makes Live Website Testing so incredibly useful?
đ Test ANY website without code or downloads Want to test your marketing site? Your web app? Even your competitor's website? Just enter the URL and start gathering insights instantly. No integration, no downloads, no waiting.
đ„ See exactly what users experience Capture screen recordings, facial expressions via camera, and audio feedback simultaneously. This three-dimensional view shows you exactly where users get stuck, what frustrates them, and what delights them.
đ Multiple tasks + follow-up questions Set specific tasks for testers, track completion times, and dig deeper with contextual follow-up questions. The picture-in-picture instructions keep testers on track without disrupting their natural browsing experience.
As someone who's been involved in Marketing for years, I've seen how challenging it can be to get user feedback on live websites. That's why I'm not just launching this as a random launch â I'm genuinely excited to share it with the Product Hunt community because this feels like a personal project to me for my relationship with the team.
I'll be here all day answering questions and sharing more insights about how we built this. Would love to hear your thoughts and feedback!

Congrats, cool product, it looks really slick! I've been using similar monitoring products in the past, which slowed the site down quite a bit. How light-weight is the performance, any impact on Web Vitals and loading speed if I would use this?
Lyssna
Thanks@dtijs! There is no code implementation required at all - so no performance impact.
This is essential for UX teams. Do testers ever feel overly monitored which might impact their natural behavior?
Are there options for anonymity?
@faith_foster 100% Agree.
We haven't heard any feedback from our testers about feeling overly monitored. We do clearly state the recording requirements upfront, allowing participants to decide whether they're comfortable proceeding with the test.
Regarding anonymity, when you recruit participants from your own network, we donât ask them for any personal information. For testers recruited from our panel, we don't reveal their personal details - only a demographic profile is shared. Live website tests can also be configured to only record the participant's screen. Camera and microphone recording is optional.
I'd love to hear what options for anonymity you would expect or like to see!
@rubenlozanome Are screen recordings stored securely and do users need to provide explicit consent?
@ethan_lennon Great question!
Recordings are only accessible by the company conducting the research and wonât be made publicly available, as per our terms and conditions.
Before participants choose to start the test, the welcome screen informs them of the recording requirements (Screen / Camera / Microphone), the requirement to visit an external website, and a reminder not to share any sensitive information. This is also shown again in more detail when the participant reaches that section of the test.
Thatâs lovely, I will try it for sure.
@graham_weaver Thanks for your support Graham - we're excited for you to try it out!
@rubenlozanome Can you invite specific testers or is it open for anyone to participate?
Cake Equity
@emily_hernandez3 both are available, you can choose to send your test to your own group of users (this can be for example a list of users that you have in your CRM or Email Marketing tool or to your community in Slack or Discord) or you can choose from our panel of users (there are many attributes that you can choose to target your right audience).
Do you have any ideas that you want to test? Do you need help with some ideas? :)
Great tool but how does it ensure data privacy?
@arianna_wright Thanks so much for your support!
At the beginning of every test, participants are advised of the recording requirements, as well as an overview of how to protect their privacy, including examples of sensitive information that should not be shared.
Recordings are only accessible by the company conducting the research and wonât be made publicly available, as per our terms and conditions.
Great indeed.

@claudio_fanetti Thanks a lot! :D
I love the concept but I have concerns about privacy do the custom links expose any personal information or is there a way to hide certain details in public links?
@caleb_foster1 Thanks for your question! To make sure I understand correctly, can you share any more detail on what you mean by hiding certain details in public links?
This tool is incredibly useful especially for e commerce and SaaS.

@ava_lilz Thank you. Yes, indeed. :)
I couldn't agree more that marketers don't test enough. I've made so many assumptions in the past that didn't hold up when I finally ran tests.
As a UX designer, I've struggled with getting real user feedback on live sites without complex setups.

This is a feature I've been waiting for from Lyssna.
I tested out the beta version and was really impressed.
There's no better way to see how your users interact with your product than this!
