Locket is undoubtedly my favorite new social app in years!

#1 on the App Store's Social Networking list! Such a simple idea — and huge traction, thanks to TikTok.

Asks for phone number so its a no go for me. I know its for friends and families but still, I wish it had email option with usernames. So we could add/reject other users.

It's been truly incredible seeing everyone use Locket over the last few days. I originally built the product as a birthday present for my girlfriend Ava last summer. I had graduated from UCSB that June, but she was going back to school in the fall, so we were about to start a long-distance relationship. We started using the app every day to stay in touch and have since sent thousands of photos on the app. Once our friends started asking to try it, we decided to release it on the store. Since then, a few viral TikToks have catapulted the app to wayyyyy more users than we ever expected :) Long term, I'm super excited about the concept of adding the people you care about to your Home Screen. Right now, phones are centered on apps. Locket can flip this and make people the center of your phone. Especially as folks become more suspicious of phone usage + large-scale ad-based social products, I think there's a real appetite for a product like this. Awesome and simple idea.:) Is this tied to phone numbers or some other ID? Thinking of ways I can communicate info and updates with my audience effortlessly in a way that is private but wont get abused.. like them sending back photos I really don’t want to see)
