Hey Hunters! šš»
So, here's the deal: I love my iPhone, but man, it was seriously eating up my time. Iād pick it up to check one thing, and boomā45 minutes gone in a black hole of apps. š
I thought about hopping on the dumb phone trend (itās a thing, trust me), but ditching everything just didnāt feel right.
I realized what I really needed was a middle ground. A way to keep my iPhone but make it lessā¦ well, distracting. There are some great solutions out there, but most of them come with a hefty price tagāaround $25 to $30.
So, I built Lite (https://www.getlite.app)! Itās a super minimalist app launcher that turns your iPhone into a distraction-free zone. Best part? Itās just $2.99 for life. Simple, affordable, and effective. š
Now, imagine all that time you reclaimāspending it in nature, hanging out with loved ones, or finally picking up that hobby you've been putting off. Sounds better than scrolling, right?
Cheers to less screen time and more real life! šæ

@kjosephabraham Hey. Few basic features were requested to bring it to parity with competitors.
But users really enjoyed the widgets - "Years left to live", "Day/ Year in progress" and "Daily quote".
Here is the roadmap incase you are interested - https://insigh.to/b/lite-minimal...
Congrats to the Lite team on the launch! This looks like a sleek and efficient way to streamline app access. Are there any customization options for how the launcher looks or functions?
@vietpham Hey. Yes totally!
You can change the font, text size, number of apps, color, spacing, etc. It will give a real time preview of how the widget would look.
@tinypixel_ Just love this! š Finally an app that wonāt suck us into the black hole of endless scrolling. For the price of a coffee someone can reclaim their life! ā
Great work, Himanshu!
This idea is interesting. Minimizing the apps on my phone can reduce the time I spend on them and save me time, but I think there's a problem: if I'm addicted to one app, I will quickly find it anyway.
@sebastean_wu Lol true. If its somewhere there on the phone, then there is no getting away.
Try uninstalling the app for 30 days if possible. Would be a good detox.
@illia_kyrychenko1 Hey. Currently it is not possible.
A widget can only open its app first, post which any next action can be done.
In our case, it opens the Lite app before redirecting to the launched app.
However if you turn on "Reduce motion" and "Prefer Cross-fade animations", this tends to look better.
I understand its not a very launcher thing to do, but gotta play within the rules of the Apple ecosystem.
Lite sounds like a fantastic solution for those wanting to reduce distractions without ditching their smartphones! Love the affordable price and the focus on reclaiming time for meaningful activities. Great job, @tinypixel_
š
Absolutely love the concept behind Lite! In our fast-paced world, itās so easy to get sucked into our screens, drifting from one app to another without even realizing it. Canāt wait to see how this transforms my iPhone experience! Cheers! š
hey @tinypixel_, kudos on the launch of Lite; minimalism is having a moment and you're on the pulse with it. even without using it, i can tell itās cleverly thought-out and priced just right, noting the balance amidst the sea of pricey competitors.
Hey Himanshu,
I'm curious about how you decide which apps to include in the launcher. Is it completely user-customizable, or do you offer suggestions based on usage patterns?
It might be interesting to add an optional feature that tracks and visualizes the user's screen time reduction over time. Have you considered something like that?
Congrats on the launch!
@kyrylosilin Hey.
If a user is unable to find their app among the 200+ listed, they have the option to search for and add a custom app directly from the App Store within the app.
We track this on mixpanel - to see which apps people couldn't find, and add that to the supported apps by the end of the day. (That's almost 5-10 apps on a daily basis š )
On visualising screen time - that's a great idea. I should create a widget out of it probably.
Congrats on launching the Lite App Launcher! š A minimal, streamlined solution for quickly accessing apps is perfect for users who value simplicity and efficiency. Looking forward to seeing it enhance the iPhone experience!
That's a fantastic idea! A minimal app launcher for iPhone sounds both sleek and efficient, perfect for streamlining the user experience. It's interesting how simplifying access can significantly enhance usability and aesthetic appeal. Keep exploring this concept; it has the potential to really resonate with users looking for simplicity in tech. Well thought out!
@borja_diazroig No. not yet. I think screen time and number of phone pick ups would be a good comparison.
Planning to add that as a widget to visualise and see the trend before and after.
Absolutely love this minimalist, scenario-based app! It's refreshing to see such intuitive design that adapts to user needs. The clean interface is a joy to use. Congratulations on launching ā you've nailed the 'less is more' approach. Can't wait to see how it evolves! šš
