Later Cam turns your phone into an old-school disposable camera. Shoot up to 27 photos without previewing or editing your shots. See your photos for the first time as glossy 4x6 prints mailed right to your door for half the cost of IRL disposables!
Congratulations on the launch, Brother! I’m proud of you.
As you know, I love this idea and the product. Getting the LaterCam candid photos from our wedding in the mail after our honeymoon ended was a real treat. High recommend for LaterCam to anyone getting married as a more affordable alternative to disposable cameras that’s better for the environment too.
I’m also glad that your beard is mostly grown back now too :)
@andygcook Love you, brother! Without you, there would be no NanaGram and without NanaGram there would be no Later Cam!
It was a blast testing Later Cam for the first time at your wedding and it's been so fun doing so many weddings this summer.
100% never going beardless again!
Thanks so much for posting, Hiten!
A couple cool things that didn’t make it into the video:
1) Party cameras let you shoot into the same camera with friends, just like passing around a Kodak FunSaver.
2) We give you the option to put postcard templates on the back of all your photos so you can mail them to your friends with an inexpensive postcard stamp.
3) O.G. Print Mode is the default (you prepay for 3-27 prints and they all get printed and mailed to you) but I’m also playing around with a free digital mode where you can snap photos and we hold them for 3 days. Then you can see them in-app and share/download or order select prints.
I’d love to answer any questions!
@thatmattgardner Canada isn't directly supported in the app but I can ship there for an additional $1.50 USD. You can safely buy a cam, shoot all your photos, and then you'll see there's currently a flow to provide your address and I'll charge the $1.50 separately on the backend.
Nice work @aacook! Love the concept and the video is on point with the nostalgia. May use this idea for the kids on a trip so they can experience what i experienced! Haha
Looking rad Alex!
Crazy how expensive original disposables cams are these days. $25 average.
Wedding cam idea is brilliant too. Cool if you could provide unique QR codes for those.
Best of luck!
@leojbarnett Thanks Leo! Prices are $25 on average and the size of the market has grown substantially in the past few years even with high prices. It's been so much fun booking and hosting several weddings the past few weeks!
Looks awesome. In partycam mode, can i select multiple recipients? love the idea of a friends weekend with a group taking pics to the same roll and then each person opting in to receive the prints - as opposed to me then having to lick stamps and all that. very fun idea - great work.
@brian_swartz Hey, Brian! Thank you!
You can add as many friends as you want into a party camera. All you have to do is grab the secret link and share it with them. Your friends can shoot on iOS or Android.
We could do a better job explaining the various modes but the truth is, it's still a work in progress!
If you buy an O.G. camera, as the owner of the camera you'll get all 27 prints in the mail. Then 3 days after that the camera "develops" in the app and everyone can see the digital negatives. We also support scrubbing the entire digital roll so the only place exist is in your hands.
We also are experimenting with a fully digital experience that's free, where everyone gets to see the photos in-app 3 days after you "send it to the lab."
@boroskoyo Thank you, Barış! Ah, yeah right now it's US-only because we're only shipping photos to the US. But we do have the ability to ship worldwide and it's just a matter of releasing it. Can you shoot me an email and I'll add you on TestFlight? alex@latercam.com
@boroskoyo You know what, I just decided to make it available worldwide for iOS. There's a free digital mode you can try out if you're interested in playing around w/ the product. And if you want to actually get real prints you could buy them and we'll charge an additional $2 for worldwide shipping.
@ericamadly lol, that's awesome! I just got back from a trip to Amsterdam and my wife and our two friends shot about 200 photos on Later Cam. It was pretty fun and mirrors the film experience pretty closely. We did it through the free digital disposable mode in Later Cam and looked at the photos 3 days after we got back. If you want to shoot on a cam with more than 27 photos you can email alex@latercam.com!
Nice throwback idea. Will be following. Now if only there was a away to lock my camera and limit me to 27 photos until I physically pass a Walgreens to “pick up” a new camera.
