Dear fellow language learners,
We'd like to introduce the world's 1st French CEFR-graded reader app.
This product was inspired by an attempt to fight the European Migrant Crisis. The hypothesis was (and is) that migrants possess smartphones in most cases and prefer short, engaging content over traditional classroom style learning methods in order to learn the language of their new country.
Consuming a real, engaging & positive story or piece of news at your level every day will boost continuity & engagement and greatly impacts your learning progress.
Attempts to get public funding failed (you be the judge if the product is bad or bureaucracy stopped us), so we commercialised it.
Graded readers with instant dictionaries do already exist for Asian languages. Bringing short, engaging stories with an instant dictionary to the world has been a great success so far and was easier to create for languages, where single words do not change their form.
However, European languages have inflections, meaning that the word form changes depending on who is the subject, object, whether we have singular or plural forms and so on. This creates difficulties when assigning story words with the correct database word.
We already battled this down for German with Readle - Learn German with Stories with great success.
Here comes our next project Langster - Learn Languages. We always have free stories circulating around every week. If you keep up reading, you will be able to read all stories once. This is why we deem the product to be free forever.
We'd be thrilled if you take a few minutes to try it out and provide some feedback below. 👇
