This is often exaggerated by freelancer platforms which drive prices down and take a large cut of the your revenue. I therefore present to you Lancerlist. Lancerlist is a simple directory of freelancers in your city. Here you can see their day rate, portfolio and email so you can reach out in the way that suites you best. As a freelancer you can boost your profile once a month. This pushes your profile to the top of pile therefore rewarding active members. All emails and website links on display are generated as images to prevent scraping and subsequent spam. If you're a freelancer I'd love you to join us to let potential clients from your city find you easily. Great product! Would love if the platform hosted some more content around each freelancer. It would provide a more engaging experience instead of just being redirected to the freelancers website.

The strength of this kind of project is the community, not the tool. Right now, there’s almost nobody in :’( hope you’ll find some traction !

Interesting idea. I created an account and ended up with my name in all caps, except the initial letter. Looks really bad that way. Site is missing any info on privacy, other policies, or any kind of help or guidance on choices. It should have that. For example - what does "profile visible yes/no" really mean or do - if set to no, then the account does not show up on the city listing. What's the point? There's not contact info other than twitter. It's a website. It should have a contact email. Not every freelancer is on twitter!

This is cool. I would like to see a city option for Hartford, CT, it automatically handle single rates instead of just ranges, and maybe a short blurb for a freelancers bio.
