Komodo 2.0 — The fastest way to record your screen and interactive guides

👋 Hey, Product Hunters! I'm Khanan, the founder of Komodo, and I'm so excited to debut Komodo 2.0 today. Komodo is the fastest, most reliable, lightest weight way to record your screen or create a training guide. Komodo has the best features of Loom, Scribe, and Descript at 91% lower cost. Previously you could only use our Chrome Extension to record, but that all changes today. Now Komodo is available as a standalone desktop app for Mac and Windows. We rebuilt this from the ground up for speed, reliability, and simplicity. But this is only the beginning. As a small, bootstrapped team, we're able to iterate much quicker than the bigger players in our space. Here's some ideas we're looking to add into Komodo next: - AI Generated Guides, Walkthroughs, and SOPs - Komodo CoPilot, An intelligent screen recording assistant - Knolwedge base search on all the recordings in a repository from yourself and your team

Great to see Komodo advancing! About sharing, is there a copy/paste html export, or iframe, what are the options? And a feature suggestion. Add the possibility to edit audio files in addition to video. The whole podcast world will be yours..:-)

Hi, congratulation on the launch! Does this also allow recording the sound not only of the mic, but of the desktop itlself? (apps, etc.)

Congrats! Will look into this late! Does Komodo have the features similar to Screen Studio to adjust the mass, friction, etc when zooming in and out during the screen recording?

Outstanding tool! Constant relevant and useful development. From the day I started using Komodo until now, the improvements have been fantastic. Also the team behind it is excellent with great ethics and true appreciation for their users. They stand by their early adopters and really take feedback to heart. I love all of the features that Komodo continues to introduce and the tool itself has been solid as a rock. I use a half dozen similar tools, and Komodo has quickly risen to the top for me. With the introduction of the desktop apps I may not need to use any of the others. I can't recommend Komodo enough. It is simply awesome!

Really great tool, it was fantastic when I first started to use it and it keeps getting better and better thanks to the team rolling out new updates. I recently spotted AI summarisation has been added, and it does a great job of pulling out key information. Early days for the desktop version, looking forward to seeing what they come up with. On my wishlist would be to fit a recording to screen (with a nice background) and zoom effects, like Focusee or Screenrun. I've used the tool with clients, with co-workers, to report software issues (so helpful to record a screen of a problem), and am now looking to make use of the guide building feature for a new project.

An absolute gem of an app. I use it every day and it's such a joy to use it. It has replaced 3 different tools for me already. Khanan (the dev) loves the product himself and his enthusiasm shows up in the speed and quality of development. He's been listening to the community and releasing amazing updates consistently. Komodo is not just an alternative, it's better.

I use Komodo. I used to use Loom, but I find Komodo is a much better experience for me. I consider this one of the essential tools I use to communicate to support desks (when things don't work as they should,) and also for my outsourcers on Upwork. The tracking that Komodo does naturally and email updates help keep everything on track. If you need a screen recording software, you can't go wrong with Komodo!

The App that keeps improving, this is one of the best screenrecording apps that i have used so far, and have kept coming back to. Every time i login i see something improved, the AI based summaries are spot on and the plus for adding chapters in the video... and now with the most awaited windows app rolled out, this one is going to soon give others in the same domain a run for their money. This product provides transforms my tech stack combining and removing the need for scribehow and loom. A well design product that puts my brand to the forefront. Very verstile and highly recommended.

I gave Komodo a try yesterday now that there's a Windows app, and was really impressed. All of the features are really impressive, and the time between me finishing the recording to the video being uploaded / ready to edit (I stuffed up and it took me a bit to stop the recording, so needed to remove 10 seconds at the end... 😂) was almost instantaneous. I was seriously blown away. I haven't tried the click guide yet, but it looks like a great replacement for ScribeHow based on the ProductHunt video. I couldn't figure out how to get my video avatar to show in the recording, even though it was visible during the recording, but that's likely a user error on my part. I found the video page also didn't have any of my branding, even though I've changed my settings to include my brand colour, logo and favicon. But again, that might be a user error, as I see there's a feature for landing pages, and I haven't looked into that yet.
