@jbriscoe Hey Jason, sorry you don't like it. I thought it was a fun way to present the past year. Https://klart.co/pixels shows the designs in a more traditional way :).
@drikerf love that it's playful and fun – but it has to function for the user. I gave up after 5 hovers, but your new link is so much easier to digest – nice one bud!
Hey Drikerf, I think comments are a bit "harsh".
I like the website, it clearly shows that you put some time and effort in making this showcase.
As other users pointed out, I don't think that the "hover over to see the content" quite works. Maybe you can try to lazy load the images as we scroll? The first impression opening the website is: Whoops, it doesn't load the images.
Also, instead of the expand animation, that causes the re-position of other elements, it would maybe better to show the expanded content as an "overlay" of that box? something like an absolute pos. That would allow you to display the bigger image without moving the other boxes.
I don't know, these are just my ideas. Regardless, good job, it takes times and ⚽️ ⚽️ to get your product out there.
@nicguti Thanks Nicolas :). I tried to use a scale transform before but it would overlay surrounding elements. I think you're right about lazy loading on scroll - will give it a go :)!
Great Idea. Nice collection of sites. I also use this link as the homepage -> https://klart.co/pixels. In the homepage, the option to see the code for the color is a great add-on. I also wish I could filter the design by industry. Thank you for sharing.
Hey Product Hunters!
About a year ago I started a design curation and newsletter called Pixels and earlier this year I extracted colors from all designs to make a collection of data driven color palettes.
Now, after over a year of collecting designs I thought it would be cool to visualize everything in some way. So I built One Year Of Design ✨ where I showcase all the beautiful designs and color palettes from the past year.
Looking forward to hear your thoughts about it 😊
@drikerf Got to be honest, I prefer your curated and – I assume – hand-picked color palletes on https://klart.co/pixels more. The algorithm extracted ones seem to be too generalizing. Sometimes a important contrasting, but sparingly used color gets overlooked, see the Yume-entry for example.
@boettges Hey Peter! Colors for this project are fetched from designs on Pixels :). But I understand your point. The algorithm sometimes miss important colors, it's one of the things I'm working on to make better.

The idea is really great. Lots of design stuff that could help designers grab new ideas for the next projects.
I think the website will be better if you change the User-Interface to card-based style page like Pinterest or to News feed/Magazine style.
Pros:Generating Ideas
Cons::( UI
