Kin is a social habit tracking app that helps you create long-lasting changes. We make it easy and fun to build healthy habits effectively. Take courses to learn new habits or improve existing ones, share habits with friends and much more.
The onboarding is super smooth. Holding a habit button down to complete was unexpectedly satisfying.
?makers are there plans to allow for The Kin community to reach out to other using the app for accountability vs just friends?
Hey everyone!
I've been on a quest to improve my mental and physical well-being so I can present the best version of myself to the people around me. Amongst other things, this quest led me to start building Kin with @amittm, @damienkan, and @omarjalalzada
We have personally experienced the profound benefits of developing and maintaining healthy habitsβ they helped us be more healthy, mindful, and grounded while navigating all the triumphs and challenges of our personal lives. That's why we created Kin to help us in our journey but also share it as a gift with the rest of the world.
We've been beta testing this with our friends so far and received valuable feedback. Now, we're really excited to invite the Product Hunt maker community as our collaborators as we build a product that could positively impact many lives. Give the app a try, send us feedback via the built-in chat, or send an email to feedback@kinhabits.com
Thank you and looking forward to hearing from you!
Use the chat to ask us any questions, provide feedback, or share stories about your journey in building/breaking habits.
@eugenehp I'm glad it resonate with you. Accountability is a very powerful tool to build consistency and we're learning a lot about different ways to approach it. Let us know if you have any feedback!

Congratulations on the launch! The last year has been so such an important year in my life where I got an opportunity to reflect, and form habits. I maintained a journal and used to track activity with a no. of apps in iPhone, but didn't find any good one-stop-solution. I wish Kin was there, to be able to connect with the communities, helping each other reach our goals. Will definitely try it π
@adityavsc Good job on forming your habits! Last year was definitely intense, to say the least. I'm very curious to learn more from your experience as you build your community within Kin! Encouraging your friends to build healthy habits is not only a noble act of service but also a very effective form of accountability in your own habits.
I was wondering if the phone number verification is necessary? I do not have my phone number and cannot login at the moment. I can do apple login or Social media login.
@dilan I couldn't agree more! It's the smallest and most fundamental building blocks of our potential. It's can be simple to comprehend but very difficult to implement, we hope to make it a bit easier everyday.
Was intrigued by the nice design and concept, but put off by comments in the play store that this is basically yet another app harvesting for phone numbers to "connect you to your friends".
@mhafellner Thanks for the feedback Markus! We decided to use phone numbers because it makes it easier to find other friends on Kin via your contact list. We have no intention of storing or harvesting your information. That being said, we hear your feedback and will be exploring alternative methods in the near future.
This is amazing! Have tried so many habit trackers over time and noticed that public accountability tends to works best. Really looking forward to combining both
I've been using Streaks on iOS for a while (your design seems very similar btw). Seeing this I'm thinking that someone watching over my progress could really help with adherence.
So can I actually share my habits screen with someone? Or maybe make an app ping my friend if I'm skipping a gym etc? :)
Kin is an app that lives on my home screen and that I use everyday *because if works*.
Before Kin, I used to think it was impossible for anyone to stick to a healthy habit every single day. There are probably some days where I forget to brush my teeth! π¬π¬π¬
Since using Kin, Iβve worked out 366 out of 367 days and Iβve meditated 326 days in a row.
Thank you to the hardworking Kin team for helping me significantly upgrade my life.
Big fan of Kin - have been using for some time now to improve my meditation, exercise, and eating habits, and it actually works! I was using spreadsheets / giving friends a dollar every time I slip, but this basically replaces all that and makes it a ton easier. The accountability is real... Highly recommend!
I consider myself a connector who encourages community and group achievements. I'd like to organize a group of friends and try the app altogether. What do you suggest? Have them download via PH or I send my group of friends an email with the link to PH? Thoughts on this?
