Hi Product Hunt! We’re the team behind KidMeter 👋 Like many parents, we kept forgetting to jot down our kids’ height or fumbling with wall marks that never line up. We built KidMeter to turn that chore into a single-photo moment you actually want to capture. Point the camera, shoot. From there, smart charts show whether growth is on track. What’s next We’re heads-down on deeper scanning accuracy, multiple-child timelines, and a “growth quests” feature that gamifies healthy habits for the whole family. 🚀 This is only the beginning—we can’t wait to keep building alongside your feedback. Thanks for checking us out, and happy measuring! 💜

Love the idea of blending tech with parenting moments! 😊 How does it handle different lighting conditions for accurate measurements? ✨

Oleg Samsonov

@diego_fernando_lopez Thanks a bunch! 🚀 KidMeter taps into the device’s LiDAR sensor, which throws out its own infrared “flash,” so it measures depth accurately even in a dimly lit nursery. Ambient lighting isn’t a deal-breaker at all. 😊

Love this concept for tracking growth! How does it compare to manual measurements accuracy-wise? 📏✨

Oleg Samsonov

@arthur_lee6 Thanks! 📏✨

On LiDAR-equipped iPhones/iPads we see an average deviation of ≈ ±1-2 cm.

If device does not equipped lidar, you can still enter numbers manually and keep the growth chart consistent—we’ve got everyone covered.

What a heartwarming way to document childhood growth! 😊 Love the idea of combining precise measurements with cherished memories. Does it work well with wiggly toddlers too? Can't wait to try this with my niece!

Oleg Samsonov

@nina_kovac Thanks a ton! 💜 KidMeter was field-tested on plenty of wiggly toddlers (mine included). The scan itself is lightning-fast—about a second—but for picture-perfect accuracy we still suggest asking your little whirlwind to stand tall for roughly 10 seconds while you snap the photo. A quick “freeze like a statue” game usually does the trick.
