Nice! I think for the user it makes sense to push these support messages to an app that they already use; no need to get used to yet another interface.
Commoditization of the interface FTW! ;-)
What's your longer term vision for this product @spenceryang ?
@pieterpaul Thanks Pieter. We thought about this product for about 2 months now and only got time to build it recently. Hope that with this product, more site owners can connect with visitors through social channels like Facebook Messenger, Telegram, Wechat etc. Fundamentally, we want to empower small businesses to support their customers better in this global business environment.
Really like this as a potential intercom replacement. I like how it will take a customer / website visitor to a familiar medium (FB messenger and other chat interfaces) and allow them to communicate with the company in an environment they ostensibly feel more comfortable in.
Great job KeyReply team! Would love to see how this evolves!
@playswithfood Thanks Dave - let me know what your experience has been with Intercom in terms of core usage and how has chat by keyreply been for you. :) Love to learn from your feedback and improve the widget.
@ourielohayon thanks Ouriel, there is no catch. That is the best part. We are trying to help more businesses like ours connect with their customers directly. It will be free forever. :)
Brilliant! I don't think chat/support can get any simpler.
This would enable website owners/support to chat with users whenever and wherever they are.
Simple & Amazing. (y)
Hey, this will be really useful for local businesses! I would use this if I was still shooting weddings. People much prefer the instant chat option and giving them tonnes of choices is another win win.
@danielkempe Yup, and it's all about reaching customers wherever they like to be on these days, so the choices help the local business owners decide what makes sense for them to support.
@mattbrian Hey Matt - Chat by KeyReply will be free forever and as a team, we provide service to site owners if they need to with the core KeyReply product. The KeyReply product will not be suitable for all site owners but as the site grows and support needs grow, it will be useful. :)
Nice product, it's simple & clear. But when I see "100% free" and all the data I can put in this page, I'm wondering "where is the trap?"
What's the plan for you?
@colorjunkie Hey Antoine, thanks so much for the question - we did not obfuscate the code so you can actually dive in to take a look. As a team, we want to help more site owners connect with customers. This allows us to provide better mobile solutions for teams which is our core business - KeyReply. :D Hope this helps to allay your fears that we will turn on the paywall in the future for this. haha
@colorjunkie Also, we don't collect any of the data you put in - so if you want to change your contact details, you'll just have to generate it again. Hope this helps!
Brilliant @spenceryang and team. It's clean, instant and super useful. My feature request is to adding the ability to specify time schedules (local time) for showing and hiding each channel. For example I would to present all channels to customer during working days (9 to 5) while hide some of them during the weekends such as phone calls and Facetime.
@farbodsaraf Thanks for trying it and the feature request! We will look into how to make it great for the site owners, super useful suggestion. Love it.
@spenceryang Yes! Will be great to have a solution to chat with clients just through Slack. I believe Smooch is doing that but there can be room for simpler products like yours. Cheers!
Very cool :)
If I may suggest a small UX tweak: while it's clear to website owner what the icons are about after selecting the available channels, it may not be that clear for visitors. Maybe the various channels offered would feel a bit less confusing to them if each icon had a "title" attribute containing the name of the service?
@oelmekki Thanks for the idea! We have now added a title attribute to the image so that you can see the platform name when you hover over it. :D Keep it coming Olivier!
@spenceryang@oelmekki I agree I had the same issue. This would be a bit too confusing for me to put on my sites. Tech-savvy consumers would get this. Most regular people would be a bit paralyzed by choice and confusion. "What happens when I click this button, I have never seen this before"
One other minor thing. I'd make the icon cursor:pointer. Without seeing the little hand I don't know what the deal is.
@bhalp1@oelmekki Thanks Ben! Let us look into this suggestion and improve on the cursor portion for web. The innovation we have here is really for global audiences. In markets like China, Wechat is the go to app for support. In countries like Brazil (thanks to the recent ban on WhatsApp), site owners can actually rely on Telegram to talk to customers (they are growing 1.5M users a day).
Post Launch: We wrote a more detailed post about how and why we built Chat by KeyReply:
https://medium.com/@carylyne/why...
Our team built a variety of web and mobile products, to support customers on websites, we either have to use ugly contact forms, or resort to paying for expensive and bloated live chat software that we do not need. As a small business owner whose time is better spend communicating with customers on mobile, via chat and in a personal way, we want to help owners connect with site visitors directly.
We built Chat by KeyReply to end all of our issues and yours. Simply select the channel you want customers to reach you on and put it into your website code. Watch it turn questions from customers to conversations on messenger, telegram or other applications. Did I mention that it is free forever?
Try it, share it and let’s stop the search for a good live chat widget forever. 😜
Just uploaded some images of Chat widget live on sites from the community~ 💃💃
Thanks so much for supporting Chat by KeyReply on launch day - if you have more feedback that is super urgent, please feel free to talk to us via the chat widget on our page! :D
@shib88 Hi Shib, we looked into Whatsapp integration but they are not very easy to integrate into at this moment. I think if we do figure it out, that will really benefit more users as WhatsApp is really the go to tool in countries like Indonesia.
Smart idea. Looking forward to implementing this for Gametize's support and customers. KeyReply will definitely grow its features to beyond a keyboard utility to integrations with all the helpdesk softwares and even Google Groups, I can see it in my vision ;)
@keizng That's awesome, we'll love to have you implement this! We definitely do have integrations on the roadmap ;) But beyond that, this chat widget is a way for us to give back to the SMB owners whose problems we now understand better because of our work on KeyReply.
Awesome tool, now my users will be able to call or text me, or any other contact form that's best for them. It sure will improve the communication. I really like how you can customize this widget, I chose dark blue with matches my site’s design. Thanks KeyReply!
